Two municipalities
get planning grants
A community planning
study grant of $14,400 has
been awarded to the County of
Huron on behalf of the Town
of Wingham, Claude Bennett,
Minister of Municipal Affairs
and Housing, announced this
week.
The grant will be used to
prepare a new official plan for
the Town of Wingham.
Another grant of $18,000
was received to update the
secondary plan for the Village
of Bayfield.
Community planning study
grants are designed :o en-
courage municipalities to
resolve land use planning
issues to reflect municipal
and economic priorities.
They may also be used
for special studies to develop
community improvement
policies, to determine the
feasibility of using data pro-
cessing technology in the
local planning process and to
assist in implementing the
Planning Act.

to the graduates on the value
of friends in one's life. The
graduates were presented
with school pins by Chairman
Mrs. Rose Anne Kreps of
Milverton and co-ordinator
Mrs. Nelda 1'antzi-Kropf of
Tavistock.
Among the graduates were
Donna Regier. Zurich. and
Janice Webster, Varna.
After receiving their school
pins the graduates were led
by former instructor Miss
Agnes Morrow of Hamilton in
recitation of the Florence
Nightingale pledge.

for first place honours in
academic standing presented
to Joanne Newton and Jane
Gladding who tied for this
award.

for exceptional ability in bed-
side nursing and active in-
volvement in student ac-
tivities presented to Kim

I.O.D.E. award for pro-
gressive achievement during
the two and a half year pro-
gram presented to Victoria
McCreight.
The St. Marys Graduate
Nurses award for proficiency
in bedside nursing presented
to Joan Mohr.
The silver medal for second
place honours in nursing
theory and clinical practice
presented to Jane Gladding.
The gold medal for first
place honors in nursing
theory and clinical practice

family and friends gathered
to celebrate with the
graduates at a dance and buf-
fet held at the Victorian Inn.

Sunday morning the Elim-
ville Sunday School was in
charge of the White Gift ser-
vice. Mrs. Dan Coward was
the leader while members of
the Sunday School were in the
choir. Many Christmas carols
were sung during the service.
Donna Kerslake read the
story "The Advent Apple".
The story 'The Selfish -gami-
ly" was read by Carolyn
Dykeman with Julia Wilkin-
son also helping her. Steve
Wilkinson read the story "The
Gift Tree" and Andy Grubb
read the story "The Free
Gift."
The choir sang several an-
thems. All the children
brought canned goods to be
•distributed to needy families.
Following the church ser-
vice the choir provided a love-
ly noon meal for approx-
imately 80 people. Good
fellowship and social time
was enjoyed by all
The Christmas concert for
the Sunday School will be held
Wednesday December 21.
The Christmas Eve Com-
munion service for Thames
Road and Elimville charge
will be at Elimville this year.
