Mens club at Dashwood nets memberships of 28 By MRS. IRVIN RADER Doshwood The Dashwood Men's Club held their membership drive meeting November 21 with 28 members and 10 guests pre- sent. President Wayne Ratz conducted the business. Gary Cornish introduced the guest speaker, Ron Conol- ly, representing the Credit Bureau of Stratford. He spoke on different ways to collect unpaid bills in Ontario and other provinces. - Wilfred and Victoria Eichler, New Hamburg; Albert and Peter Deichert, Zurich were Monday visitors with Mrs. Frieda Keller. They brought dinner and all the trimmings as they celebrated Peter's 94th birthday. Christine Schade and Stacey Rader spent Wednes- day afternoon with their friend, Sally Mason. Sally and her family will return to Australia in December. Her father is an exchange teacher. Creditors By MRS. PETER MARTIN The Crediton and District Social Club will be issuing a newsletter to its members shortly. Some of the highlights happening in the Club are a Christmas dance December 3. The Childrens Christmas party is December 4. All area boys and girls are welcome to come and visit Santa and receive a treat from the Social Club. The party will be held at 2 p.m. in the hall. New Years Eve tickets are on sale to members until December 4 after which a first come first serve basis will be in effect. For tickets contact Harvey Hodgins. January will be the 15th an- niversary of the club's origin. As a result old time prices will apply at the dance. In the future another Easter trip is in the planning stages along with a spring and fall euchre tournament. Sympathy ;s extended to the family of the late Cliff Kenney who passed away Fri- day evening. The craft sale held at the hall Saturday was a success with 10 exhibitors displaying their crafts for sale. An ex- cellent selection of gifts and useful items proved a tempta- tion to many buyers. Another sale is planned for the spring. Gloria Martin visited with her former neighbour, Miss Ella Morlock, Tuesday after- noon at Ailsa Craig. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rader and Brenda were Wednesday supper guests with John and Barbara Vella, London. Mrs. Harry Hayter is a pa- tient in University Hospital, London, where she underwent surgery; Bill Adams also had surgery in University Hospital. Melvin Restemayer is in University Hospital. Brad and Janice Oke have returned to Ontario from Saudi Arabia where they were both employed. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Main, Kitchener, spent the weekend with Mrs. Emilie Miller. TEM/LEMAN Staff° Mrs. Robert Ratcliffe, Kirkton and Mrs. John Templeman were guests of the Goderich Township Women's Institute at their November meeting Monday evening at Holmesville. The annual meeting of the Marian Ritchie Evening Aux- iliary was held in the church November 15 with Mrs. Lorne Elliott presiding The theme of the meeting was Memories and Mrs. Elliott read several poems pertaining to the Theme. Mrs. Carter Kerslake gave the scripture and devotions. Twelve members answered the roll call with a verse on Memories. Mrs. Norman Harburn gave a reading, The Bronze Soldier for the topic. The committee for the attic, bake and craft sale reported that anything left over, was taken to the Good Will and Salvation Army. The quilt top made by the auxiliary members was auctioned and brought a good sum. President, Mrs. Robert La- ing presided for the business College, Ann Arbor, Michigan spent the American Thanksgiving holidays with her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Mayo Mellecke and family. Sunday callers with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, Zion• portion and gave a report on the Fall Rally. Excellent reports were given from all committees showing that the Marian Rit- chie Auxiliary had a very good year and met their allocation.
