To donate cookies to Cancer

The ladies of Centralia
United Church are asking any
body of the community who
wishes to donate cookies that
will freeze or money for the
Cancer Clinic in London to
please bring same to the
church kitchen on Wednesday
September 28.
Mr. and Mrs Fred
Bowden attended services at
Zion United Church Sunday
and later visited at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jacques.
Centralia U.C.W. held their
meeting Thursday evening at
the church. Mildred Greb
presided for the business.
Plans were made to send
$25. to the Cancer Society also
cookies and donations of
money to be handled in
September 28. This was to be
used for the patients at the
clinic in London. A request for
old eye glasses was made to
be handed in anytime.

charge of the program. Iva
opened with a poem. Iva and
Marion conducted the wor-
ship service. Gladys gave a
story "Ladies of the Bible".
Iva called on Glena 'Tripp
and she presented beautiful
pictures on her summer trip
to Rome and Spain and many
interesting places This was
enjoyed by all. Lunch was
served by the lunch
committee.
Tom and Mary Kooy at-
tended the 40th wedding an-
niversary celebration for Mr.
and Mrs. Lorne Weiberg of
Zurich held at Trivitt
Memorial Hall Exeter on
Saturday evening and Sunday
visitors with the Kooys were
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Noels,
Lucan.
