MR. AND MRS. KEN VARLEY
Pink roses, stephanotis, carnations, mums,
babiesbreath and candelabras decorated the United
Church in Exeter for the wedding of Julianne Doris
MacLean and Kenneth Frank Varley on Saturday,
August 13, 1983. Julianne is the daughter of Jerry and
Alice MacLean of Exeter and Ken is the son of Fronk
and Marg Varley of Hensall. Rev. Glen Wright officiated
at the double ring ceremony and the bride was given
in marriage by her father. The matron of honour was
Jane MacLean, sister-in-law of the bride. Julianne's at-
tendants were Bonnie Westlake, Cindy O'Brien both
friends of the bride and Darlene Varley, sister of the
groom. Flower girl was the bride's niece Kimberley
MacLean. The groom's bestman was Gary MacLean,
brother of the bride and guests were ushered by Terry
Caldwell, Dave Kinsman and Jim Gregus. Acting as
ringbearer and passing out flowers to the lady guests
was Jeffrey MacLean, nephew of the bride. Following
a reception in Exeter at the South Huron Recreation
Centre the couple travelled to Puerto Plata in the
Dominican Republic for their honeymoon and are now
residing at 135 Wellington Street, Exeter.

MR. AND MRS. MATTHEW POSTILL
Jacqueline Cheryl Paterson, daughter of Ron and Myr-
na Fraser, Exeter, and Matthew Epp Postill, son of Vern
and Shirley Postill, Exeter were married July 30, 1983
at Trivitt Memorial Church, Exeter, with Rev. Jim Sut-
ton officiating. The maid of honour was Ev Blong, Ex-
eter. Bridesmaids were Cathy Paterson and Linda
McKinnon, Oshawa, Irene Dulaba, Richmond, B.C. and
Carol Fisher, Zurich. Flowergirl was Melissa McKinnon,
Oshawa. Best man was Ray Paterson, Oshawa, and
ushers were Randy Paterson, CFB Borden, Korlis
Zemitis, Dashwood, Terry Blong, Exeter, Gary Tuton,
Oshawa. Ringbearer was nephew of the bride Jimmy
Paterson, Oshawa. After a honeymoon to Niagara Falls
the couple is now residing in Exeter.

Dashwood area youths
returning to colleges

Well this is a big week for
Mom as kindergarten, public
and high school pupils are off
to school. A number of young
folks are off to college.
Eleanor Salmon to Toronto
University, Sandra Datars to
Huron College at Western
University where Kim Gaiser
will be returning next week
for her second year; Richard
Laing and Terry Bender are
taking their second year at
Fanshawe College while
beginners are Robin and
Marianne Kraft and Kim
Kipfer; Elise Vandeworp at
Conestoga College, Stratford;
Connie Schroeder, Conestoga
College, Kitchener.
The families of the late
Robert and Bertha Hayter
held their fourth family reu-
nion Sunday at the home of
Bob and Gloria Hayter with
Mr. and Mrs. John Snyder of
Brantford hosting it. Forty-
five were in attendance from
Detroit, Montreal, Goderich,
Brantford, Mississauga,
Toronto, Windsor, Grand
Bend and Dashwood. A
delicious supper was enjoyed
by all. Games and visiting
were enjoyed.
Mrs. Letta Taylor who has
been a patient in University
Hospital, London is being
transferred to Victoria
Hospital, Wednesday.
Mrs. Emilie Miller spent a
few days last week in Kit-
chener with Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Main. Mrs. Main ac-
companied her home and
spent some time with her
mother here.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader
have returned home after
vacationing at Wasaga Beach
for three years.
Sharon and Nathan Bennett
spent the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Miller and
girls, Zion.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader
and family spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Becker at their cottage,
Miller Lake.
Elizabeth Daters, Toronto,
is spending a week with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Datars.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rader,
Ben and Robin, London, were
Sunday supper guests with
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader.
Midgets ousted
Dashwood Minor Athletic
finished the season with the
Midgets playing three ex-
citing games against Cottam
in the O.B.A. semi-finals. Last
Saturday (August 27) in Cot -
tam the midgets lost 9-8. On
Sunday in Dashwood they
won the first game 8-7 but lost
the second game 14-10.
The bantams, pee wees and
tykes all had a good year but
lost to Flesherton in the
W.O.A.A. finals.
The draw for the AM/FM
stereo Radio Cassette
recorder was September 4
and the lucky winner was
Frank Mclsaac, Dashwood.

Mrs. Lorna Main, aunt of the
bride was hostess at the home
of Mrs. Emilie Miller. Mrs.
Angela Watson and Mrs. Nan- -
cy Rader hosted a neighbour
and friend shower at the
home of Mrs. Angela Watson.
Mrs. Lyla Broderick, aunt
of the bride was hostess for a
Ford family shower at her
home in Exeter. Mrs. Darlene
Carter and Miss Julie Heal,
bridesmaids held a shower at
Darlene (Webb) Carter's in
London. The girls in Dianne's
office in Toronto held a sur-
prise shower for her and also
the groom's mother and sister
were hostesses for a surprise
shower at their home. Dianne
very graciously thanked
everyone for their time and
lovely gifts.

MR. AND MRS. MARK VAN BREE
On August 20, 1983 Teresa Van Raay and Mark Van
Bree were united in marriage at St. Boniface Church,
Zurich, with Father Brian Coady officiating. Teresa is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Case Van Raay and Mark
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Bree. The maid
of honour was Antoinette Van Klooster and the best
man was Henry Winters, friends of the couple. Fellow
attendants were Joanne Van Raay, Josie Van Bree,
Teresa Von Bree, Martin Van Raay, Jerry Von Gerwen
and Mike Van Raay. Teresa's niece, Helena Whit-
tington, was the flowergirl and Chris Tames, friend of
