Horse show at Summerfest
By Pauline DeVries
The Exeter Horse and
Rider Club held its fourth
show for this year at the
Crediton Summerfest on
August 20. Eighteen horses
and ponies competed, along
with their riders, in 15 dif-
ferent classes.
There were a wide variety
of classes held, ranging from
the more traditional
showmanship at halter to the
much 'more unorthadox and
exciting donut -eating relay.
The contestants were allotted
points, according to their
placing in the classes.
These points were added up
at the end of the day, and a
high point trophy, donated by
the Crediton Summerfest,
was awarded. A "Keeper"
trophy, a ceramic horse
donated by Village Ceramics
and Gifts, Dashwood, made
by Mrs. Doreen Browning
was also awarded.
The winner of these
trophies was John Relouw on
his horse, Jordan. He had a
total of 37 points. Bcvan
