in squirt
The Exeter Bombers keep
bombing along in thesquirt
soccer season.
Exeter met Arva on a cool
windy evening with just
enough players to play. The
Bombers worked very hard to
get a goal in the first half but
were unable to succeed. '
Exeter had many tries on
goal but due to the windy con-
ditions and lots of little legs
the ball couldn't seem to find
its way through the goal
posts.
The second half saw Exeter
use all the power they had to
keep the ball in the Arva end.
This was a good all team ef-
fort with no one player being
the shining light.
After tremendous effort
and a few set up shots Steven
Farquhar came through from
',centre field to accept a pass

eter a goal.
The rest of the game was
heavy with pressure on Arva
but another goal ould not
be scored. This was one of the
most exciting games of the
season.
Final scorewasBombers 1,
Arva 0.
Keeping up their good hart
work the Bombers met Nairn
and were able to produce
another winning game.
Nairn were able to come
out from a huddle to score
their first goal. Not to be out
done, the Bombers picked up
speed and a good run from
centre down the side by Ryan
Stuart and a good kick land -

ed the hall on the goal line and
seizing this opportunity
Steven Farquhar ran in and
kicked the ball through the
posts.
A valiant effort by both
players only to have this goal
disqualified by an off -side.
Disappointed but not un-
daunted the Bombers tried
again.
On a pass from Ryan
Stuart, Steven Farquhar got
the ball and with gtod foot
work was able to pass the
Nairn players and score a ty-
ing goal.
Goalie Simon Dinney show-
ed determination when he
saved a high air ball which hit
him square in the face. For a
couple of minutes he stood
stunned but afterwards felt
well enough to stay in the
game.
In the second hall Exeter
was able to keep the bal! in the
Nairn end. the Bombers kept
pressure on Nairn with all the
players giving everything
they had. A full team effort
again allowed Steven Far-
quhar to get the ball ani kick
it into goal for a game score
of Exeter -2, Nairn 1.
