Church news
At St. Thomas Anglican
Church the Rev. Peter Der-
rick conducted the Worship
and was the Celebrant of the
Holy Eucharist assisted by
John Herbert.
The Scripture Lessons were
read by Kenneth Hoar and
Betty Ann Herbert. The
Gospel Luke 11:1-13 was read
by the Rector.
In his message to the
children the Rev. Derrick ex-
plained to them what the
meaning of prayer was; tell-
ing them that when they said
their prayers, they were talk-
ing to God.
In his sermon the rector
preached on the first two lines
of the Lord'' Pt ayer. "Our
Father" meant that God
wanted us to feel close to
Him, just as we would be to
our earthly father, even
though He was Heaven!y.
"Hallowed be Thy name,"
meant that God was holy and
morally perfect.
