MORGAN — In loving memory of
a dear wife Florence Morgan who
passed away July 25, 1982. -
What would l give her hand to ,
clasp,
Her patient face to see,
To hear her voice, to see her
smile,
As in the days that used to be
But some sweet day we'll meet
again,
Beyond the toil and strife,
And clasp each other's hand once
more,
In Heaven. that happy life
Lovingly remembered by hus-

Sunday morning worship
was held in the Huronview
chapel with Mr. David
McNight in charge. There
was a fairly good attendance.
David's message today was
"Catching People For God."
He told the story of Jesus' in-
structions to the Disciples to
go out and preach to the peo-
ple and ways in which we
might govern our own lives.
Instead of stressing theimpor-
tance of our lives, put the
other person first. Encourage
people to come to church and
set an example ourselves. A
duet was sung by Elsie
Henderson and Margaret
McQueen.
Monday afternoon, the
Salvation Army from
Wingham presented a concert
in song and instrumentals.
We had a super pie social on
Tuesday afternoon with many.
different kinds of pie from
which to choose. Our only
regret, we ran out of pies. We
extend our thanks to Helen
Bradley who baked the pies.
Wednesday was a beautiful
day, and some of the
residents went to London for
a drive, while others found a
cool spot out under the trees.
Huronview chapel service
was held on Thursday, with
Mrs. Prouty in charge, and
led in the singing of hymns.
Milford Prouty read the scrip-
ture. A bible quiz on Bible
women was conducted by Mr.
Prouty and the Bible study
taken from Acts 2 was given
by Shirley Prouty.
We extend a warm
welcome to Mrs. Marjorie
Herdman from Exeter. and
Alfred Andrus of Exeter who
have come to reside at
Huronview.
To the family of the late
Norman Walker, a resident of
Huronview, we express our
sincere sympathy.
Canadians, as usual, are
obsessed with the weather.
All winter we worry about the
snow and the cold, then we
talk about the: rain, and now,
we're fussing about the heat.
I wish I had an air conditioner
for everytime someone says
"Hot enough for you?"
I always reply that I love
this heat wave. It can never
be too hot for me. But then, 1
work all day in an air condi-
tioned office, at night I go
home to my house on the
river, we hop in our boat and
go swimming in the lake.
Then we go to bed in our cool
and comfortable bedroom.
thanks to the refreshing
breeze that comes up from
the river.
Not only is the hot weather
enjoyable, it's good for the
economy, too. The breweries
are working over time to keep
up with the demand. Ice
makers must be turning
every available drop of water
into ice. Sales of fans and air
conditioners must he up.
Even sales of cars with air
conditioners musl be on the
increase.
Vendors can't keep their
soft ice cream machines fill-
ed up quickly enough to freeze
the cream. Grocery stores
are selling popsicles by the
case.
Clothing stores - especially
those in Grand Bend - can'(

Hamilton, Ont.
June 17, 1983
Dear Mr. Sharen and
councillors:
We have just completed a
two week visit at Grand Bend
and felt compelled to write a
note of commendation to you
for your positive decisive ac-
tion in making the expansive
sandy beach at Grand Bend
more attractive and
enjoyable.
The clean-up squads along
with the garbage containers
(sand castle motif, have
greatly helped to improve the
cleanliness of the sand. There
will always be people who lit-
tle but at least some are get-
ting the message. Perhaps
some incentives could en-
courage consideration for.
others. The most garbage
seems to be closest to the
receptables. Maybe the of-
fenders could be singled out
by a deputized person for that
purpose. -
The motor craft are now an-
choring in designated areas
beyond the buoys - a tremen-
dous safety measure for
everyone, especially those
who use the beach for swim-
ming and relaxing.
The supervision by the
water patrol and lifeguards.
so necessary in enforcing the
rules and by-laws is most ef-
ficient. Even the dogs were
conspicious by their absence.
We only spotted one in the
water and three on the beach
in two weeks.
Mary's
musings
By Mary Alderson
keep bathing suits on the
racks.
My hairdresser -husband
reports that business is boom-
ing in a heat wave,
everybody wants short hair.
In fact, he's been so busy that
he hasn't even had- time to
give his wife a haircut. Final-
ly. after a long hot day, 1
simply refused to go to bed
until he cut my hair. So at one
o'clock in the morning, there
I was having my hair cut in
the middle of the kitchen. 1
didn't recommend that he
work that late for any of his
other customers.
If everyone agrees that a
heat wave is good for the
economy, then the govern-
ment will try to take credit for
the weather.
There is one area where the
heat wave probably hasn't
been good for business - pan:
ty hose manufacturing. As
soon as the hot weather ar-
rives, most women discard
their panty hose. Business
roust h' in a slump. But then,
the number of panty hose that
one goes through during the
rest of the year would surely
compensate_
Arid on the other hand - if
panty hose sales are declining
due to the hot weather, then
no doubt business has improv-
ed at Lady Schick.
