At Friedsburci Days
'Food for Thought' coming

The best Friedsburg
celebration yet with the
parade theme "Food for
Thought" or "Your favourite
food fantasy".
New events for this year
are a midway with several
rides and concession booths
Friday and Saturday even-
ing; Friday night bingo in the
community centre and a
baseball game with the guys
and gals from CFPL radio;
craft show in the community
centre all day Saturday; also
a cross cut sawing contest.

companied by friends Nancy
and Frances, are enjoying a
few holidays in. Quebec City
this week.
Lewis and Elnora Raycraft
were in Point Edward last
week to attend the funeral of
Elnora's brother, Wilfred
Haslip. .
Dave Hornell and his
friend, Danielle Hideout, of
St. John's, Newfoundland
visited with Joe and Bonnie
Manders on Thursday even-
ing and spent Friday with the
Hodgins, at Shadyside Farm.
Mrs. Robert Dukelow, Sim-
coe spent Friday with Hazel
Williams.
There will be contests for
children Saturday afternoon.
At camp
Camp Pioneer, Angola,
New York was the setting for
six days of fellowship for con-
firmands of the Lutheran
Church, Missouri Synod, from
Ontario and Michigan with
the theme "Sharing Jesus."
New friends were made and
new skills learned through ac-
tivities such as canoeing, can-
dle making, kite making,
photograms, physical fitness,
archery, stained glass pain-
ting, tennis, mime, garden-
ing, nature study, jewelry
(metal craft), floor hockey,
wood craft, swimming and
mini golf.
Bible study and meditation
were conducted in assigned
question groups and Vesper
service brought each day to a
close.
Ross Keller, Paul Mellecke,
Chris Miller, Robert Rader
and Bill Vandeworp of Zion
Lutheran Church will always
consider their time spent at
Camp Pioneer to be very
special in their lives.

ly closed, All possible efforts
are being made to reopen at

tient in a London Hospital.

July 24th will be at Thames
Road at 10 a.m. Sunday, July
31 a church service will be
held at MacNaughton Park,
Exeter at 10 a.m. with a pic-
nic dinner to follow.

The group will be gone four
days. Thursday the group
held a successful bike-a-thon
to raise funds to defray some
of the expenses. A special
thanks to all who donated to
the event.

have returned home following
a two week tour of England
and Scotland. Some things of
interest were a Scottish
Celidah; a Shakespearean
Festival at an abode of Henry
VIII and a stay at Exeter. The
scenery and flowers were
beautiful. It was a lovely trip
but the weather was hot and
humid and there was no air
conditioning.

Marriage of Clinton spent a
week at Wawanesia where the
weather was good and the
fishing great.
