drain is to be left on the
Flanagan land at Lott. Lake
Road West, and responsibili-
ty for levelling it or hauling it
away is accepted by the pro-

allowance for crop damage
has been autohrized, as has
one for $390 for Bi11•DeGroot
for property at lot 1, north
boundary, Lake Road East
which will also be affected.
The court of revision for the

Pat Groot appeared before
council to ask.what could be
uone about three little islands
of dirt in the south end of the
Schwalm drain that arc
holding back water and caus-
ing problems on his property
at Concession, 10. south half of
tot 22, and water that is com-
ing from the village of Zurich.
Reeve Lionel Wilder. in
'dealing with the first com-
plaint. said the Schwalm
drain has been a "trying thing
for council". As the islands
are not on Groot's property.
Wilder suggested he circulate
a petition among the other
property owners as the first
step to an on-site meeting and
appointment of an engineer.
Wilder said any future work
should be undertaken after a
new engineer's report has
been done, so the municipali-
ty will have a proper
maintenance schedule. The
absence of one in the past has
been the source of a great -
deal. of unhappiness among
affected property owners.
As for the water originating
in the' village. council- sug-
gested Groot rneeet with the
Zurich council.
