LETTERS TO
SANTA
Dear Santa:
How are you and Mrs.
Claus? Hope your rein-
deer are ready for the
long drip. I just wanted to.
tell you that we have _
been very good this year, just don't ask my Mom
and dad - they might have a different opinion. Well,
Santa, we tried really hard to be good. Santa, I
would like for Christmas, Winnie the Pooh stuffed
animal and a toy truck that makes a lot of noise -
my sister would like that. Santa, Megan would like
a Mambo 5 CD. Bye for now. I will make sure there
is lots of cookies for you!

As we approach the end of the year and resolu-
tion -making time, it's never too late to become
flexible. That means Joint flexibility. Studies
have shown that no matter what your age, joint
stiffness can be reduced through a program of stretching. Get
on a program of regular stretching and exercising soon.
Speaking of the end of the year (century?), here's a reminder
that Y2K will not be a problem for pharmacy. Computers are
fine and compatible. Supplies will be fine unless people start
to hoard. Treat this yearend like any other. Have a couple of 2-
4 weeks extra medication on hand, but don't hoard.
The best source of calcium is dairy products. Some plants
have calcium In them (spinach, kale and almonds) but these
plant sources contain phytates and/or oxalates which reduce
the amount of calcium absorbed. Spinach and milk have simi-
lar amounts of calcium but only 5% is absorbed from spinach.
if you are going on a holiday, remember to bring enough of
your prescribed medications with you. tt isn't always easy to
find the equivalent medication in foreign countries.
On behalf of our pharmacists and staff, I'd like to wish you all
a very happy, healthy and safe holiday season.
