Wedlake's head was shaved completely while Biesinger and White received brush cuts. The three raised $1,400 in pledges for the hair cuts, done courtesy of Vicki Finkbeiner of Hairlines by Vicki. Biesinger and White lost 22 and 20 inches of hair respectively. Their shorn hair was donated to Locks of Love, a charitable orga- nization that provides wigs for financially -disad- vantaged people who have lost their hair due to ill- ness or medical treat- ments. Huron United Way Executive Director Kim Bilcke said wigs can cost $3,000 and take six to 12 ponytails to make. Nabisco employees have raised more than $15,000 for the '99 United Way campaign through payroll . deductions. This year's goal was $15;000 and the company will match dol- lar -for -dollar any dona- tions above` $15,000, Wedlake said: Last year's Huron United Way campaign was the first for the Exeter Nabisco plant.. With a $10,000 goal, $21,000 from payroll and company contributions were raised. Nabisco Manager Terry Bourne promised to have his head shaved if the employees met the fund- raising goal.
