Bettie Dann and family
in 'the death of her
grandson James Dennis
Dann as a result of an
industrial accident on
Monday, Nov. 15.
The Biddulph
Township '150th' cele-
brations committee met
at the township office
on Monday evening,
Nov: 15 when tickets for
the Taste of Biddulph
dinner on Friday, Jan. 7
were distributed among
the members.
It was also decided to
order a few souvenir
items and the April 1
auction is being planned
with the Lucan Heritage
Society as co-sponsor.

Sunday, Nov. 21, Rev.
Glenda Meakin cele-
brated the Holy
Eucharist and her mes-
sage was in keeping
with the last Sunday
after Pentecost - the
Reign of Christ. The
lessons were read by
Kathy Blackler and the
minister.
Evening prayer service

James A.C.W. attended
an evening prayer ser-
vice .at St. Paul's
Anglican Church in
Kirkton on Thursday,
Nov. 18 which was led
by Rev. Glenda Meakin.
The guest speaker was
Rev. Lynn Calhoun, rec-
tor of St. George's
Anglican Church in New
Hamburg and Christ
Church in Ayr. Lynn is a
warden of the Order of
St. Luke and gave a very
moving interpretation of
the biblical meaning of
faith healing.
A time of fellowship
followed in the lower
church hall, hosted by
St. Paul's A.C.W. when
an array of bazaar
items were available.

BRANTFORD - Five
members of the Huron
Hurricanes Aquatic Club
who competed at Swim
International in Brantford
on the weekend all posted
personal best times.
Valerie Otten (Girls 10
and under) posted a per-
sonal best time of 3:45.51
in 200 m breaststroke
and placed 21st in 50 m
freestyle. Matt Miner
(Boys 10 and under)
placed third in 100 m
backstroke and fifth in 50
m freestyle and recorded
personal best times in
100 m freestyle and 200
m backstroke.
Meghan Morris (Girls
13-14) had personal best
times in four of her five
races including her 50 m
freestyle with a time of
29.61 and a 1:05.28 in
100 m freestyle; Susie
Miner (Girls 13-14)
recorded three personal.
best times, doing the 100
m breaststroke in
1:23.08.
Sarah Datema (Girls 15-
16) recorded personal
best times in 100 m but-
terfly (1:14.95), 100 m
freestyle (1:05.58) and
100 m backstroke
(1:14.98).
Several members of the
team recorded personal
best times at the Victor
Davis sprint meet in
Waterloo on Oct. 23. The
races were all 50 m
sprints.
In the Women 15 and
over category, Datema
won sixth in the 50
freestyle and seventh in
the 50 m breaststroke.
Sarah McNichol took 10th
in both the breaststroke
and freestyle. Jessica
Tyndall took llth in the
breaststroke and 16th in
both the backstroke and
freestyle. In the Men 15
and over category, Jason
Brown won seventh in his
breaststroke and ninth in
backstroke. Sc.ott
McNichol won seventh in
backstroke and ninth in
freestyle.
In the Women 13 and
14 races, Megan Lee took
fifth spot in backstroke
and 11th in both butterfly
and breaststroke.
Elizabeth MacGregor
placed 16th in breast-
stroke and 19th in back-
stroke. Susie Miner took
silver in breaststroke and
eighth in butterfly. Morris
brought home bronze in
backstroke and freestyle,
and fifth in butterfly.
Kellyann Vandendool took
eighth in backstroke and
14th in breaststroke.
Laurie Vandendool placed
12th in backstroke and
13th in breaststroke.
Andrea Vanderloo swam
to a third place finish in
butterfly and seventh in
backstroke. Leanne
Vincent took 18th spot in
breaststroke and 21st in
backstroke.
In the Men 13 and 14
category, Aaron Datars
brought home silver in
breaststroke, bronze in
freestyle and fourth place
in butterfly.
Jillian Wright, in the
Women 11 and 12 catego-
ry, won sixth spot in
backstroke and 12th in
both butterfly and breast-
stroke. In the Men 11 and
12 races, Jeremy
Blackwell took seventh
spot in butterfly and
eighth in both backstroke
and breaststroke. Adam
Case won silver in both
freestyle and backstroke,
and bronze in butterfly.
Jacob Dejong took sev-
enth spot in both back-
stroke and breaststroke.
Patrick Livingston won
silver in breaststroke and
fifth in both backstroke
and freestyle.
In the Women 10 and
under, Otten had a great
meet, bringing home gold
in both butterfly and
breaststroke, silver in
backstroke and bronze in
freestyle. Aiden Barnett
took seventh in both
backstroke and freestyle.
Erika Mattucci won sev-
enth in breaststroke and
11th in butterfly. Lisa
McCann took sixth in but-
terfly and eighth in
breaststroke. Melanie
McCann brought home
bronze in backstroke and
fourth in butterfly, breast
stroke and freestyle.
Jessica Sparling won
ninth in backstroke and
10th in butterfly and
breaststroke.
In the Men 10 and
under, Robyn Lobb placed
fifth in breaststroke and
sixth in backstroke. Matt
Miner won gold in butter-
fly, backstroke and
freestyle.
The girls 200 m free
relay teams did well, win-
ning silver in the Girls 10
and under; third and fifth
in the Girls 13-14; and
bronze in the Girls 15 and
over.
The Hurricanes com-
pete in Port Elgin on Nov.
27-28.
