SouthHuron District High School girls hockey goalie Charlsey O'Rourke played a
strong game but couldn't keep her team from losing last week's home game 2-0 •
to Stratford St. Mike's. Coach Lynne Farquhar said her girls played well with some
disorganized play in their own end at times. The Panther record is 0-2-1 (wins,

Panther boys winning streak ended
EXETER The South
Huron District High
School boys hockey. team
learned a new skill during
action last week.
That skill is coming
from behind like they did
at home versus the
Stratford Central Rams on
Friday. After escaping a
sluggish first period
behind 3-1, the Panthers
clawed back to make it 4-
3 after the second and
scored three unanswered
goals in the dying minutes
of the game for a 7-5 win.
Dan Mosurinjohn scored
South Huron's first period
goal while on the power-
play with 9:00 left in the
first from captain J.R.
Davies and Brandon
Martin.
The Panthers scrambled
in the second period but
picked up the pace and
eventually tied the game
at 3-3 on goals from
Davies (assisted by
Mosurinjohn and. Ryan
Ralph) and Steve
Rasenberg (powerplay,
unassisted). at 17:37 and
9:44 respectively.
Stratford's Matt Roberts
scored with 2:39 left in
the period to help his
team regain the lead.
Mike Seip tied the game
for the Panthers on the
powerplay . 1:34 into the
third period from Darryl
Bourne and Scott Keys.
Stratford regained the
lead with 7:07 left.
The Panthers then hit
on all cylinders starting
with a tying goal by Rob
Devries from Rasenberg
with 6:41 left. While on
the powerplay, Rasenberg
then scored his second
goal with 4:09 left from
Keys and Jason McCann
and notched the hat -trick
marker with 1:37 left
from Ryan Groot and
Scott Musser.
The Rams pulled their
goalie in the dying
moments of the game for
the extra attacker but.
failed to put one in the
Panther net.

to win 7-5. (photo/Craig Bradford)
Soldan said the win was-
n't a pretty one' and the
team was slow compared
to their usual fast pace.
The plan to force
Stratford in their own end
broke down several times
allowing the Rams to
break out many two
on one opportunities..
Soldan said ,Rasenberg
played a good game with
his hat -trick. '
"Steve is a force on the
Panthersquad but we
have to keep him out of
the . box," he, said, adding
Rasenberg picked up
three minor penalties.
"Steve plays a physical
game and isoften the tar-
get of the of icials."
Soldan also lauded
Davies for his goal and
.assist and Keys and
Mosurinjohn for their two
point games.
At Listowel Monday, the
Panthers lost their first
game of the season 5-2.
Soldan said the game
was much closer than the
score indicates. The game
was tied 2-2 in the third
period anda couple of
defensive errors cost the
Panthers two goals.
The, score was' 1-0 for
South Huron after the
first and 2-1 for Listowel
after the second.
"I think with a few
adjustments we can pay
them 'back - when they
come here," Soldan said.
Soldan said his first year
back- in .the Huron -Perth
league Panthers need to
take care of the basics. He
added the ;great crowd
support at. home boosts
the team.. .
South Huron's record
standsat3-1.
The Panthers will play
in the Palmerston tourna-
ment in December where
they will be placed. in the
competitive top eight
class. South Huron will
also host a Red and Black
Panther tournament in
early February. The
Panther girls will host
seven other teams while
the boys will hold a 12 -
team round-robin format.
The Panther boys next
H -P Ieague games are at
