The South Huron District High School cross country season came to an end with- out the hoped for glori- ous finish at the WOSSA championships in Wingham last week. After winning the Huron -Perth crown a week earlier, coach Joe Fulop expected another top result at WOSSA for his senior girls. The team ended up sixth at WOSSA led by the top four runners of Jamie Reaburn, Erin Robilliard, Jo -Dee Regier and Heather Morgan. The senior boys placed ninth with top four runners Dan Snell, Ryan Beattie, Brian Harrigan and Chris VanEsbroeck. The top Panther midgets were Skyler VanKruistum and Dan Spence. Nov. 6 7:45 p.m. at the Hensall Arena Sherwoods still at .500 HENSALL - The Hensall Sr. A Sherwoods seem to take one step for- wards and then one step backwards so far this sea- son. In Clinton on Oct. 29, the Sherwoods made the most of their short bench to slip by their hosts 4-3. Greg Dalrymple got Hensall going by scoring at 14:53 of the first from Chris Downie and Sean McCann. Clinton also scored in the period and both teams played a scoreless second frame. Chris McDonald scored at 4:26 of the third period from Dave Landers and Landers landed his own goal at 7:52 from Andy Marshall and McDonald. Sean McCann scored the unassisted winner at 12:27. Clinton scored two goals in the first two minutes of the third to give the Sherwoods a scare. Hensall only had 13 skaters while Clinton dressed a full lineup. At home Oct. 30, Hensall lost 5-2 to Wellesley. Wellesley built a 3-0 lead in the first on their way to the win. Landers scored the first Hensall goal at 11:56 of theesecond period on the powerplay from Sheldon Lacroix and McDonald. Jason Schilbe scored on the powerplay 41 seconds into the third period from Marty Debruyn and Mark Cooper to end the scoring for the Sherwoods. Hensall has three wins Getting close.
