Fall Rally

• CREDITON . - The
women of 11 area
United Churches met in
Zion United Church,
Crediton on October 21
for their annual fall
rally.
Grand Bend U.C.W.
had decorated the sanc-
tuary to illustrate the
meeting theme 'Tell Us
The Story', and comfort-
able night wear was
worn by those attend-
ing.
Many brought their
favourite teddy bear and
storybook and these
were used as group dis-
cussion starters, sharing
the stories of the special
personal items.
Theme speaker Pastor
Heather Scott, minister
of the Centralia -Zion
West Pastoral charge,
shared a monologue of
Leah's story, based on
Genesis 29 and 30 and
Psalm 90.
Carolyn Johns of
Thames Road-Elimville,
and Huron Perth U.C.W.
President Margaret
Hern guided the women
through many other sto
ries, told by personal
faith reflection, hymns,
video and sharing.
Exeter U.C.W. enter-
tained with a lively fash-
ion show, telling the sto-
ries of their night wear.
One nightie modeled
by Ethel Pooley dated to
the late 1800's. A
'Veggie Tale' about
Daniel in the Lion's Den
was enjoyed and the
arrival of the 'Sister Act'
choir to entertain
topped off the evening's
program.
Rudy LaFaive of
Kippen led the closing
prayers and a snack was
served by the Crediton
U.C.W. hosts.
