"2 Minute Wave of Silence"
Whereas Nov. 11, 1999 will be the last
Remembance Day of the 20th Century, the
most violent century of the passing •
Millennium, and
Whereas all Canadians owe a debt to the
116,000 brave young men and women who
gave their lives during this century to
defend our freedom and way of life; and
Whereas to help secure peace for future
generations, we must always remember the
sacrifices, especially the young people who
are always the first called in times of strife;
and
Whereas the Royal Canadian Legion is
asking a1TCanadians to observe a two
minutes silence at 11:00 a.m.on November
11, and that this silence will begin in
Newfoundland, and sweep across the
country like a wave as the clock strikes 11:00
in each time zone;
Therefore be it resolved that we R.E. Pooley
Branch No. 167, proclaim our support for
the "2 Minute Wave of Silence", and further
pledge that we will participate in a two
minute silence At 11 a.m. local time on
November 11, 1999 and encourage the
citizens of Exeter to participate in the "2

and practicality permit:
