Wednesday, October 20, 1999 Exeter Times -Advocate Wesley United marks anniversary By Muriel Lewis GRANTON CORRESPONDENT GRANTON - There was no service at Granton United Church on Sunday, Oct. 17 but a number from the congregation attended the Anniversary at Wesley United. Lay Pastor Val Hodgins led the service and Russell Tousaw was the guest speaker and entitled. the sermon 'Maintaining Community.' The lessons were read by Carolyn Walden, George Bloschinsky and the minister. Music was provided by the Glengarrys (Jim McPherson, Glen and. Evelyn Chute, Norman Lansdell, Alex Seaton and Gary Stevens). The Youth Group met at Granton United on Sunday evening. St. Paul's Anglican At St. Paul's Anglican Church, Kirkton on Sunday, October, 17 Rev. Glenda Meakin celebrated the Holy Eucharist and in her message reflected on the con- tents of the Bible and its relevance. Norma Paul was the reader. Muriel Lewis was the convener for the program topic on International Affairs, reading an article on the International Year of the Older Person. She read excerpts from a letter written by a member of Southsea W.I. in Portsmouth, England who commented on the Balkan situation from her per- spective. She also shared her views on a few Oscar -winning movies she had seen and told of some interesting things going on within her W.I. branch.
