Panther Profile
15
Hello and welcome to the first edition of the
1999-2000 Panther Profile. My name is Jamie
Reaburn and 1 am one of the Public Relations peo-
ple on South Huron's Student
Council. I will be writing the
Panther Profile for the first part o
this school year and then Lindsay
Haberer will take over.
There are many exciting things
happening in the school right now,
such as basketball, volleyball, field
hockey, cross country, bands and
choirs. All these activities make Jamie Reaburn
the school a more interesting PANTHER PROFILE
place to be, so get involved!
Last Friday night, commencement was held in
the large gym. It was a great evening and congrat-
ulations and good luck to all the people who have
gone to post -secondary education or are in the
work force.
As time goes by, 'this year's graduates will need
to start thinking about university and college. This
is an important decision and South Huron's guid-
ance department is here for you. They have
arranged for representatives from York University
(Oct. 13) and Brock University (Oct. 14) to be in
the school. Please come and sign up in the guid-
ance office if you wish to take part in these ses-
sions.
There will be a Birth Control Drop -In on Wed.
Oct. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the location
has changed from last year and is now located
down from the small gym, across from Room 114.
The office asked me to announce that last year's
graduates who did not attend commencement may
pick up their diplomas in the office during regular
school hours. Please pick these up as soon as pos-
sible.
This is a reminder for all the students out there
who h'.tven't paid their student council fee. If you
do not pay, you do not receive your student card.
Your student card is necessary if you wish to par-
ticipate in student council activities such as
dances and fun nights. This fee is $25 and may be
paid in the office.
Finally, pictures came in last week. If you have a,
technical difficulty or did not get your pictures
taken, be prepared to have it done on Oct. 18. You
must have your picture taken for the yearbook and
for your student card.
That's it for me. I'll see you next week!
