want their customers to continue buying their wine,
spirits and beer at the store but also want them to
bring the paper and plastic bags back full of non-per-
ishable food items for the Exeter Food Bank.The
food drive will begin Nov I and last the entre
month. Baker said liquor stores have been getting
more active with fund-raising with coin boxes and
barbecues and he thought a food drive would be a
good but different idea to try.

Animals blessed at St. Patrick's

SAINTSBURY A special service for all the fami-
lies at St. Patrick's was held on October 3 at 10:30
a.m. when The Rev. Stanley Jay, ancient for the
Holy Eucharist, also celebrated the Feast of St.
Francis of Assisi, a blessing of the animals. The
processional hymn was "All Things Bright and
Beautiful". Crystal Davis was server for the ser-
vice and Hazel Davis assisted with the scripture
readings. Each of the animals along with their
owners stood before the altar and were called by
their name and blessed by Rev. Jay.
The Rev. Stanley Jay prepared the service, the
first one to ever be celebrated at St. Patrick's.
After the service, the women of St. Patrick's dis-
cussed last minute plans for the Perth Fall
Deanery meeting at St. Patrick's on October 12.
Registration will begin at 6:15 p.m. with The Rev..
Canon Beverley A. Wheeler as the guest speaker.
Evening Prayer will be celebrated at St. Patrick's
on October 9 at 7 p.m.
Cousins Brad and Theresa Farkas of Toronto
were weekend visitors with Rose and ;Arnold
Cunningham, sons Danny and Cathy of London and
Leslie and Kate of Hensall were Sunday guests.___.
Courtney MacGillivray enjoyed Homecoming fes-
tivities at U.W.O. on the weekend.
Harley, Travis..and Starr Davis called on Ron and
Margaret Carroll this week. Visitors also were
their grandchildren Matthew, Mitchell and
Michelle Iredale.
