Centennials can't find winning touch
EXETER --- Their backs
are against the wall. It's
now or never. It's time to
bring out all the do or die
cliches as the Exeter
Centennials men's soccer
team sputter towards sea-
son's end.
The Centennials are in a
must win situation if they
waiaLto make the First
Divisn playoffs.
Their 2-1 loss at home
to Porto Friday night puts
Exeter's record at 5-6-3
(wins, losses, ties) and 18
points, good for fifth
place. Only the top four
teams from the First
Division will move on to
. the playoffs.
The Cents have two
games left, both at home:
Friday, 8 p.m., versus
arch rivals St. Columban;
Sunday, 3 p.m., a
rescheduled game versus
the Latinos.
"We have to winboth
games (to make the play-
offs)," Cents coach John
Rasenberg said.

During Friday's game,
Porto got on the board
first on a penalty shot at
the 10 minute mark. The
Cents tied the game at the
35 minute mark after
great hustle and a precise
pass from Peter
McAllister was one -timed
into the lower corner of
the Porto net by Chuck
Walker with his left foot.
Porto scored the win-
ning goal midway through
the second half. -Exeter
pressed but couldn't` find
a way to score.
