Large crowd at IPM service

CENT RALIA - A large crowd, including residents of
Centralia area, attended the IPM church service on
Sunday, Sept. 19 in Zurich with guest speaker Paul
Henderson who grew up in mow.

On Sunday, Sept. 19, Minister Heather Scott led
worship at Centralia United Church. Michelle
Underhill assisted during the service in lighting the
Christ Candle.
Judy Mills, Lois Wilson, and Minister Scott provid-
ed a lovely anthem, accompanied by Marjorie Johns.
Minister Scott's sermon was entitled God's Annoying
Way. Prayers were offered during worship for Mel
Whitaker, for the family of Howard Johns 'and for
Monkton Pastoral Charge,
Congregation members from Centralia are invited
to join Zion United Church for their anniversary cel-
ebration Sept. 26. The Woodham Quartet will share
their gift of music during worship which will begin
at 11 a.m. The Sunday School will Just a Hot Dog
Luncheon following worship, and donations will be
accepted to • assist with disaster relief work in
Turkey.
Upcoming activities
Anyone wishing to order The Upper Room should
contact June Essery by Sept. 26. The cost is $ 5.78
plus, GST.
Donations of toddler's toys which are in good con-
dition would be appreciated for the children in
Centralia nursery.
A Church School Teacher's Evening will be held 'at
Five Oaks on Sept. 20. Registration will: be held 'at
5:30 p.m., followed by supper, and will end at 10
p.m. The cost is $20. per person.
The Official Board will meet at Centralia at 8 p.m.
on Sept. 20.
The Sunday School' is planning lots of exciting
adventuresin the coming year. The Fun Night pro-
gram will kick off on Oct. 1 with a pot luck supper at
6 p.m.
