Queensway Orepares for.crft sale
HENSALL - Queensursing me's Volunteer
Auxiliary met Tuesd in and plans are
underway for the annual Cr d Bake Sale on the
last Wednesday in October from 2 to 4 p.m.
Donations of baking and crafts VII be welcomed.
This year a silent auction is planned and there are
always door prizes.
On Tuesday the church service consisted of a devo-
tional from Yvonne Reynold's book "Along Life's
Narrow Way." Belva Fuss was volunteer organist.
Residents were busy Wednesday afternoon making
beeswax candles to sell at the October sale,
The Grand Cove Cloggers led by Jo Dabro, J6i r -
formed at Queensway Thursday afternoon,/heir
debut performance. They will be clogging in the
Lifestyles Section at the International Plowing Match
this month. In the evening several diners stayed for
a card party in the retirement home lounge.
Co-op student Karol Hodgins led Fun & Fitness on
Friday and did manicures and .walks with residents
while Carol Gascho attended an Activity Directors
meeting at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock.

Blue Water residents visit Carriage Works
ZURICH - Tuesday afternoon the
Mens' Group of Blue Water Rest
Home travelled to Penhale's
Carriage Works where they Were
greeted by Carol and Tom Penhale
and John Siertsema.
Carman Lovie, Stewart Thiel, Neil
Mustard, Clarence Gascho, Eben
Weigand and Bill Burr were escort-
ed by bus driver Jim Purvis and
Ann McBride.
Penhale showed the workman-
ship of his customized carriages
and wedding carriage, a Ford car,
Minneopolas Molina and antique
tractor.
Sunday morning Margaret Hess,
Philippa Steckle, Marie Gingerich,
Neil Mustard, Bernice Cann and
Vera Haberer attended services at
Zurich Mennonite Church
IIn the afternoon tea was served
in the west wing.
On Labour Day resident Philippa
Steckle played the piano for the
singing of old favourite hymns.
Sept. 3, Corky Bedard on guitar
and as soloist and the teller of
many jokes led his group of Bob
Gilmore on violin, Phyllis Deichert
as pianist, and Harvey Smith on
guitar to entertain the residents.
Rev. Doreen Canavan, Brucefield
United Church conducted Thursday
afternoon Chapel Service. Fr. Mario
Cass
ar, Interim Priest at St. Boniface
Church, Zurich led the Catholic ser-
vice.
Friday the residents spent the day
at the 38th annual Threshers
Reunion in Blyth. Volunteer driver
John Campbell, Adjuvant Jane
Campbell and Auxiliary Member
-Martha Risi assisted the residents
with their picnic lunch and travel-
ling companions.
Clarence Smillie, Carman Lovie,
Dennis Charrette, Eben Weigand,
Kurt Gebel, Neil Mustard and
Stewart Thiel were given a guided
tour of the events bya guide from
the reunion, saw the boarder collie
presentation, and looked at the
mill, small engines, _ walking plough,
riding ploughs, team ploughing and

Condolences to the family and
friends of the late Roy Gingerich
who passed away at South Huron
Hospital, Exeter on Sept. 5 in his
88th year. Gingerich was a resident
at B.W.R.H. Apartments before
moving to the rest home in
September 1994.
Condolences to the family and
friends of the late Harry McAdams,
Zurich. Mr. McAdams who planned
to become a resident of the home
passed away at South Huron
Hospital, Exeter on Sept. 10 in his
89th year.
McAdams is well known in the
Zurich area and at the home hav-
ing cared for his relatives while at
the home.
