Huron OPP Const. Don Shropshall said the home- owner was driving into his Janeway when he heard a horn blare. He continued into the laneway and saw a man running through his backyard drop something. He checked the item and found it to be a router from his shed. He then remembered as he drove into his laneway that a vehicle had been left parked on the side of the road. When he went back to the road the vehicle, believed to be an older model dark coloured Pontiac or Chev Chevette hatchback, was gone. The shed, left unlocked by the owner, was found open with a Mastercraft cordless drill and air nailer, both in cases, missing. Together the stolen items are worth $700. The person fleeing the area was not caught and witnesses cou't give a positive description. Anyone who knows of someone that drives a simi- lar vehicle to the one linked this theft is asked to call the Huron OPP at (519) 524-8314 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). - Tools stolen from van • BRUCEFIELD --- Thieves stole tools out of Hensall Co-op van parked at an employee's home overnight Sept. 3. - Hensall Co-op reported the. stolen tools at *around noon. An employee had taken a red '97 Ford van to his Stanley Twp. home just north of Brucefield on Hwy. 4 for the night and left the van parked in his driveway unlocked. Sometime between 11 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. someone entered the van and stole a Milwaukee skil-saw and cordless drill worth $600. SB. home- owner reported a theft from his shed on Sept. 3 at about 8:15 a.m. Huron OPP Const. Don Shropshall saidsomeone forced open the shed door sometime between Sept. 1-3. The shed interior was completed searched but only a red turbo battery charger was stolen. The OPP pulled the man in his black '89 2 -door Ford over for speeding when an officer noticed alco- hol on the driver's breath. The man was given an alcotest registeringa warn and had his driver's licence suspended for 12 hours.
