The annual Beef Producers Barbecue at Poplar Hill Park was well attended on August 19 in spite of the rain. Granton U.C.W. members, husbands and friends enjoyed a supper provided by the Kountry Katerers at the home of Isabel and Lloyd Mardlin, St. Marys on August 10. Later they were entertained around the campfire by Charles Hayden and Harold Mills on the guitar and accordion. Lucan Heritage Day was well attended on Saturday, when one of the highlights was the official opening of the log cabin. which serves as the museum's perina nent site. Peter Garland of CFPL Radio, who resides near Lucan, chaired the pro- gram and was assisted in the ribbon -cut- ting ceremony by several other digni- taries. A program of old time music and singing by local talent was followed by refreshments of cake and lemonade.
