Music at the'parkette
Friday evening
EXETER -- The Main St. Parkette will be filled with
music Friday night.
Harvey Smith and Morley Snyder will be performing
old time music this from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
On Friday, Aug. 27, Wayne Otterbein and the
„ Junction 21 Band will perform
:y :country & western music also at
6:30 p.m.
Any local bands or individuals
who would like to perform next

Monday evening, 50 peo-
ple gathered at Thames
Road Church to honour
Erin Richardson, bride -
elect of September.
The basement was dec-
orated with mini -lights,
blue and white net, pink
flowers and two large
teddy bears.
Marilyn Vandenbussche
played on the piano,
"Perhaps Love" and "You
Light Up My Life" as
Carrie Simpson escorted
Erin to a chair on the
platform. Elda Riehl wel-
comed everyone and
Doris Simpson gave a
reading "A Young
Couples' _Bad Habits".
Ballantyne played
on the piano.
Shelly Toornstra gave a
reading entitled "The Art
of a Good Marriage". An
address was given by
Elda Riehl.
Several draws were
made for articles that
Gerry Riehl had made.
The winners were Erin
Richardson, Amy
Hodgert, Jo -Anne Rowe,
Lori Richardson, Kay
Hodgert and Alma
Ballantyne.
Alana Hodgert and
Ashley Toornstra pulled
in a decorated wagon.
After 6pening the many
gifts, Erin thanked every-
one. Lunch was served.

On Saturday evening,
Robert and Kathy Bray,
Misty and Jessica held a
supper for Vanessa's 18th
birthday on August 3.

home to Parmo, Italy on
Sunday after holidaying
at her home here for two

Fathead and Jessie Ross to perform
HENSALL -- Fathead, a
'99 Juno award winning
band, and Jessie Ross will
be appearing at the Blues
in the Barn fund-raisiftg
event Aug. 29 at Cass and
Adrian Bayley's farm near
Hensall.
Proceeds from the event
will go to Huron Tourism
as part of efforts to raise
matching funds for a
CanAdapt grant. This fed-
eral grant is to' promote
Ontario's West. Coast with
an aggressive marketing
campaign during the next
year.
Blues in the Barn festivi-
ties start at 4 p.m. A silent
att+ction will feature a vast
array of regional art and
gift certificates from hotels
and restaurants.
Tickets are $35 per per-
son including a full buffet
dinner of regional special-
