Marlene Glavin of .Crediton_took first place overall, Inge Mowat of Hensall was second and Ann: Overweel of Hay Twp. was third. josh Oke placed first in the junior division. `7=4 • Car shove` to be held in Centralia By Mary Peon CENTRALIA CORRESPONDENT CENTRALIA - The Centralia/Huron Park Lions Club will host their annual Antique, Rod and Classic Car Show on Aug. 22. The show will be held at Centralia Ball Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no admission fee for the general public. Car owners can pre -reg- ister for A,8. or register at the show for $1O. S$veral trophies will be awarded along with door prizes. There will also be, a pancake breakfast frown 8 to 11 a.m. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be avail- able throughout the after- noon. A 50/50 draw will be. held; also there. will ist a swap meet. The cost per table is $5. Proceeds from the day will help support the work of the Lions Club fti the community. Birthday gifts were presented to those celebrating a birthday during the month of August - Adeline Denomy, Hilda McAdams, Beatrice Eagleson, Clarence Gascho, Geraldine Charrette and George Chapman. Thursday evening, the residents tested their thinking caps with quit games, distinguishing real and fictitious judging disability and true and false statements. In the afternoon, Rev. Harold Schantz, Zurich Mennonite Church conducted the afternoon chapel ser- vice with the assistance of organist Cathy Shantz. Fr. Mario Cassar, interim priest at St Boniface Church, Zurich led the Catholic service. Some residents attended Sunday morning:church Ser- vice at Zurich Mennonite Church, while others watched the church service in the auditorium on the TV screen. Our condolences to the family and friends of the late Robert (Bob) Edward Carson who passed away at Victoria Hospital, London; on Wed,, .Aug. 11, in his 78th year. Bob is survived by his second wife, Muriel, who is a resident of B.W.R.H. The funeral service, led by Rev. Bob Peebles, and attended by family, friends,. residents and staff was held in the Rest Home .Chapel on Saturday morning. Welcome to the new resident Clara Amanda Klopp of Zurich.
