The theft of three road signs were reported to the Exeter OPP on July 26. The signs include' an orange small warning sign from Huron County Rd. 12; the Dashwood sign located at the south end of the village and a large Huron County -- Welcome to. Ontario's West Coast sign located on Mt: Carmel Rd. London OPP Const. Myra Rusk said a person caught stealing a road sign could be charged with theft under $5,000. She . also said there is a. major "danger factor" involved. Rusk said there have been cases where a person has sued the- sign thieve after being involved in . an accident caused by the missing sign., She said crimi- nal charges could also be laid if there is a coalition. Scott admits the Authority was pleasantly surprised to receive the grant so soon since projects are often on a list for a few years before funding is received. The Town of Exeter and the ABCA's general levy will paid the other half of the project costs. For nearly 40 years, the town was a partner in the dam which was built 40 years ago to supply water for the canning fac- tory in Exeter.
