USBORNE TWP. — A
well -armed high ranking•
biker member has been
charged with several
firearm and weapon
offences after an OPP
raid near Ilirkton.
The OPP West Region
Crime Unit in London
assisted the Provincial
Special Squad and mem-
bers of the London Police
Service during. the raid
last Wednesday.
Police seized a 7.62
millimetre military style
assault rifle, ftwo, ammu-
nition magazines and
approximately 100
rounds of ammunition
from the firkton area
home..
The rifle and maga-
zines are classified as -
prohibited weapons
under the Criminal Code.
, Police have charged
David Michael McLeish,
36, of RR 1 Kirkton in
connection with the raid.
McLeish is a member of
the recently formed
Loner's Motorcycle Club
(formerly the
Annihilators Motorcycle
Club) located in the St.
Thomas area and is the
Sergeant at Arms within
the club.

McLeish's position is high
ranking and involves tak-
ing care of club "disci-
pline -issues."
Shesaidthe gang has
two clubs operating in
Toronto and are known
associates of the Hell's
Angels.
McLeish is, in police
custody and appeared in
a bail hearing at the.
Goderich Provincial -
Court last Friday.
The hearing was moved
until Aug. 6 at 1Qam.jn

LUCAN BIDDULPH — Lucan Biddulph
council gave Perth Middlesex MPP Bert
Johnson an earful at its July 27 council
meeting.
Johnson's visit was his first official visit to
the amalgamated municipality of Lucan
Biddulph. Having served as mayor of
Listowel for six years, Johnson told council
he understands municipal politics. He also
assured council that while the province will
continue to make reforms, the most changes
— such as taxes and restructuring — are
over.
He said the provincial Tories will balance
the budget this year, while increasing fund-
ing for health care and for education as
enrolment increases.
He added the government will invest $20
billion in Ontario's infrastructure.
When Johnson asked council if it had any
questions for him Coun. Paul Wallis told
Johnson municipalities need guidelines from
the province on things such as the debate
over large hog barns and nutrient waste
management. He said the increase in large
hog barns has people worried about the
