The seventh annual -Bedard fundraising golf tourna- ment hosted by Cork and Shirley Bedard was held on July 17 with a very good turnout at Bayview Golf Course. Afterwards the participants enjoyed a get-together at the Bedard cottage. Entertainment was provided by several friends and family members followed by a meal. Guest of honour.was Bro. Bob Mittelholtz who is presently in the area visiting from India. The profit of the day wee Bro. Bob for his mission work. Eleven C.W.L. members of St. Boniface Parish enjoyed a bus trip to Merlin, near Chatham, lash.. Tuesday for a pilgrimage at St. Patrick's Church. The bus was driven by Doug Erb. Others attended from Grand Bend, Forest, Mt. Carmel and Exeter. Shrine dates will be held from August 13 to 22 with mass beginning at 11 a.m. each day. Bring your owniunch. The annual chicken barbecue will be held at the Zurich Mennonite Church on July 22 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. .;, Anyone who has empty pop cans to donate to St. Boniface Parish K. of C. fundraising project may drop them off this week at the home of Ralph Smith or Doug Debus in Zurich or at John Jacob's in Hensall. They will be taking a load down to be recycled soon. Members of St. Boniface K. of C. are selling elimina- tion draw tickets for $100 each. The draw will be held August 8 at the parish barbecue. Phone Ray Hartman at 236-4483. Some Zurich seniors spent a couple days last week in Chatham to take part in the Regional Championship Games. They had qualified from the Tri -County Gaines held recently in St. Marys. Elaine Weido and Mary Fickling were among those on the bowling team. Ed and Dorothy Smith played cards (Pepper) and Doris Hamilton was in the lawn bowling competition. Personals The annual Regier family get-together was held last week at Wildwood campgrounds at St. Marys for the children and grandchildren of Karl and Mary Regier. Bechler family members from Arizona, California, Missouri, B.C., Alberta, Winnipeg, Washington and the local area attended a reunion on the weekend. The fun began on Friday with two bus loads going on a tour of Goderich and a boat ride. On Saturday, all enjoyed a get-together and meal prepared by Richard Erb at to Zurich Mennonite Church, which included a penny sale table. On Sunday a potluck brunch and pool party was held at the home of Bob and Sharon Erb in Hensall. A surprise 30th birthday party was held for Cathy Clausius (nee Overholt) of Exeter on Saturday at the Dominion Tavern with several friends and relatives attending. Nicole is the daughter of Doug and Julie Debus, Zurich. A bridal shower was held for Erin Richardson on July 18 at the home of Mary Regier, RR #3 Zurich. She is the fiancee of Karl Regier Jr. They will be mar- ried in September. Tom and Gail Smith and family of Calgary recently spent a few days visiting Ralph and Audrey Smith. The family of John and Helen Consitt recently spent a few days at a cottage in the Muskoka area. Sympathy of the community goes to the family of the late Juliette Denomme who passed away on July 16. She was 97 years old. Visiting with Anna and Ulrich Duttman in Hensall is her brother and his wife from Germany. Congratulations to Jason Schilbe and Jodie Glavin who were married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on July 17 with dinner and reception in Hensall. Jason is the son of Richard and Brenda Schilbe, Zurich. Jeanne Bedard, Windsor, along with granddaughter Lori and Mike Courtland and two children from Amherstburg spent from last Wednesday to Friday at the home of Carmel and Jerome Sweeney and also visited with the families 'es of Heather, Carrie and Beth. Meagan Sweeney is on holidays this week, visiting win friends in Michigan. Happy •birthday wishes go t.9.
