Lucan area track stars excel at
nationalinternational meets
KITCHENER :-- &anton's Ayden 011ivier continues to 'collect track
and field hardware. .
Two weeks ago, Othvier won the gold in the girls 17 -and -under 100 III and
silvers in the 200 m and long jump at the District A Legion Champips in
Chatham.
Those performances qualified 011ivier for the Provincial Legion Track and Field
Championships in Kitchener last weekend where she finished fourth in the 100m
and seventh in the 200iia:
In other local track and field news, Lucan's Paula McLaughlin won a silver medal
at the Canadian Junior Track.. and Field Championships in Burnaby, B.C., last week
as a member of the St. Thomas mon Track and Field 4X400 relay team.
The silver performance ed the team for the Junior Pan Am Games in

recent golf tournament..
The third annual Carlson Wagonlit Ellison Travel GolfClassic raised ass c raised 55,000 for
the Playhouse at the June 23 event at Ironwood Golf Club.
Over the past three years, the tourney has risen a total of $10,000 for the
Playhouse.

to AAA tourney
TORONTO -- Birr's Logan Couture continues to impress with his hockey
prowess.
Couture, 10, led his Pro Hockey Development Group team to win the Toronto
Lakeshore Thunder AAA Summer Invitational tournament in the minor -atom
division: •
Couture scored two goals'in his team's A-0 win over the Rochester Icehawks in
the final. Couture also scored both his team's goals in their 2-1 semi-final win over
Toronto Stamina Sports.
Pro Hockey; based out of Toronto, also beat teams from Detroit, Newfoundland
and Bullo in round-robinla .
As the only novice team, the Pro Hockeysquad had to "play u " a division where
