The home team led 1-0 at the half after scoring on a scramble in front of the Exeter net. The Nairn defence shut down any offensive attack the Fury attempted on their way to ther shutout. Exeter's defence played well by not allowing many offensive chances. The, other Nairn goal came on a penalty shot late in the game. Exeter's Scott Davidson played a solid game on defence. The loss drops the Fury's record to 2-5-2 with their next game July. 21 at home against Morningstar in Cup play, game time at 6:30 p.m. Exeter's next regular season game is July ' 25; 7 p.m., .at Exeter: CommunityPark. At Exeter on Sunday the Huron Apothecary LP/MP tour- nament was held with teams from St. Marys, Seaforth, Port Stanley, Lambeth, London, Woodstock, Clinton and Exeter. First prize went to .Peter and Gloria McFalls of Exeter with 3, W 48+3; second place went 'to Paul and Joanne Bugler of Exeter, 3W33; and fifth place went to Roy and Barb Triebner of Exeter with 2W37. On Saturday in St. Marys, District 4 Playoffs were held for the singles title to advance to the Provincial Finals at the Willowdale Lawn Bowling Club in Toronto on July 24 -25. - Six men, three from Exeter and three from St. Marys, played a round-robin series in soups of three with the winner of each group meeting in a final match. Bob Thompson finished third in his group while Peter McFalls finished first and went on to beat Chris Johnson of St. Marys in the final by a 25-17 score. Paul and JoAnne Bugler won the Port Stanley Terminal Railway Tournament last week.
