Over the weekend the Labatt Blue Pro Beach Tour hit
Grand Bend's main beach.Above at right top -seeded

Despite humid conditions, top athletes from the
sport battled it out overthe three day tournament.
The tour, now in its third year, is presented by Nokia
and will visit seven locations across Canada this sum-
mer.The tour started in Winnipeg on June 3.
Harkness and her partner, Sue LeSage, placed third.
The pair are Canada's -top ranked women's team and
will represent the nation at the Pan Am Games in
Winnipeg later this summer. Featured games from the
weekend will be broadcast as part of The Big Spike
series across Ontario on CTV Sportsnet on
Thursdays at 7 p.m. and nationally on the Outdoor
Life Network Mondays at 9 p.m. Check your local

Exeter Express continue the slide with two losse

Express senior men's
hardball team can't seem
to find the winning for-
mula.
The Express dropped
two more games last
wei . )n June 29, Exeter
lost a home contest to
Stratford 15-6 and on.
June 3Q they ,lost at
Strathroy 108,
Seven errors by Express
players paved the way for
Stratford to dominate on
the scoreboard.
"Again, it looks as
though our pitchers didn't
do a very good job,"
Express manager Doug
Fairbairn said.
"In reality, it was our
t,
defence thareally let us
down. It seems that every
time our offence gets us
back in a game, our
defence turns around and
tikes us right back out."
Shortstop Rick Boon
was the worst offender
for the Express with three
errors while catcher Dale
Hopf committed two
errorsand second base-
man Jim Petrie and right -
fielder Dan Masse had
one goof each.
Starting pitcher Scott
Russell gave up 10 runs,
eight of them earned, in
his five innings of work.
He struck out three,
walked two, gave up four
singles, three doubles,
one triple and one linger.
Mike McCabe took over
on the mound and gave
up four runs, all earned,
in one and
two thirds
innings.
He struck
out three,
walked
three gave
up foursin-
gles and
one home
run.
Dave
Hawke fin-
ished the game- and gave
up oneearned run in one
and a third innings of
work. He allowed three
walks and one double.
Exeter hitters included
Hopf with two singles,
Dave Russell and Vic
Oliveira with a double
each and singles by Fred
Gregus, Scott Russell,
Craig Skinner, Marty
Merner and Petrie.
Of note is the offensive
performance of
Stratford's Dana Duskocy
who hit for the cycle plus
had a double and a walk.
The Express defence did
a little better in the
Strathroy game but still
gave up four errors.
Catcher
Mark Glavin
committed
two of. them
while Boon
and .pitcher
Scott Kemp
hadaone
each.,
said the four
errors cost
his team two
"very big" runs.
Kemp pitched "really
well considering he had-
n't pitched in two weeks,"
Fairbairn said.,
Kemp allowed 10 runs,
eight earned, in eight and
a third innings. He struck
out eight, walked six and
gave up eighangles, two
doubles and a homer.
Nate Burns weilded a
hot bat for the Express
with two singles and two
doubles. .•

"Even though a lost it
was a much better effort
than we have seen the
last few times out,"
Fairbairn said.
Exeter was down 7-5
going into the ninth and
then scored three runs to
take a one -run Lead going
into the bottom of the
ninth. Strathroy then won
the game on a three -run
homer.
Exeter is on a five -game
losing streak.
The Express hosted
Lakeside after press yes-
terday and travel to
Lakeside this weekend for

A well prepared resume will help you
get the job you are looking for!
A resume detailing an applicant's -Work history and
education is extremely helpful to an employer who
is seeking a person for a specific job vacancy.
Your personal resume should accompany
your letter of application.
Here are some guidelines to follow in preparing your. resurr4:
O Make it clear, concise and easy to• read and no longer
than two pages
O The resume should be typed on 8 1/2" x 11" white paper
with enough white space to prevent a cluttered look
O •
Start with your name, address and phont nurtiber
O Next under a sub -heading "Work History" detail the
previous jobs you've held in reverse date order
-that is, last job first. f =
O Use a separate paragraph for each position and
precede it with the dates you held that position.
O State the job title, a brief description of the
responsibilities - and the results you achieved.
O The next section of your resume should come under flit:
sub -heading of "Education". Start with the highest
degree obtained or grade completed, followed by the
name of the institution at which you studied. Follow
this with previous education attainments. At the end,
list any specific instructional courses you have
attended in conjunction with your work.
O Under the sub -heading "Affiliations", list memberships
and/or offices held in professional or industry
associations.
O Under the sub -heading "Personal Interests" list any
activities which you feel will be of interest to the
employer - such as volunteer work; etc.
Your letter of application and your resume will be the
factors that make the employer decide whether to short
fist you for an interview. So make it as impressive •
as you can - but stick to the facts.
