After singing Grace they enjoyed a potluck dinner. Forty members and one visitor answered the roll call, followed by reports from the secretary, treasurer and card secretary. A report was given of the accomplishments of the club at the Senior Games. Bronze medals were award- ed to Norma Coleman and Donald Parsons for horse shoes, Jack Riddell for golf, Anita Riddell for golf, Ray Webb for golf, Wilmer Desjardine and Hubert Miller for Solo and a silver medal to Harold Finkbeiner play- ing Pepper for Parkhill. A bus trip on August 20 to the Seniors Follies in Toronto, leaves the community Centre at 8 a.m. sharp. The Friedsburg Day Parade was discussed and it was agreed that Lorne Becker and Tony Martens world organize a float with volunteer help to decorate. The theme will be "One Foot in the Furrow". The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on September 13 (so it won't conflict with the week of the plowing match) at the Community Hall with Katherine Becker's group in charge. Jack Cockwell got the correct number in a guessing contest. The meeting was adjourned by Martha Pfaff and Shirley Martene. A number of guessing and relay games ended the evening along with some euchre and Solo games. All seniors are welcome. The pork barbecue will not be held in July. Rental of the hall is available and the euchres will • start again in the fall. Ken and Marg Baker attended- the funeral in Knox Presbyterian Church, Mitchell, of their friend, the late Frances Tuer on June 26. Since my last newsletter, Hugh and I have had a nine day visit from our grandchildren, Persephone and Christian from British Columbia.' Some of their inter- esting outings included seeing the play "Anything Goes" at Huron Country Playhouse, visiting a few evenings in London with Bill and attending Jason Lavery's school graduation. They had a few campouts, we visited friends and relatives, several trips to Grand: Bend and lots of Solo games. Director of Care leaves Queensway HENSALL Christian Reformed Women visited Queensway Monday. At the end of the visit the women served ice cream cones and sundaes. Thank you to the Christian Reformed Women for spending Monday afternoon at the rest home. Staff and volunteer auxiliary members of Queensway gathered for a farewell potluck luncheon for Martha Craig, Director of Care, who is departing Tuesday. .Several gifts were presented to her and everyone wished her well. In the afternoon Rev. Kevin :Rutledge of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Exeter led worship ser- vice. Following the service residents enjoyed a time of visiting. Tuesday evening the Lakeview Singers provided a lovely evening of sacred music. The residents thor- oughly appreciated the beautiful singing as well as the socializing afterward with the singers. Wednesday residents tried their skill at several Canada Day quiz games. Residents ended their week with fun and Fitness Friday morning. Volunteer Jessie Archer was in Friday' • afternoon to show a video called "Talking to the Animals" .
