St. John's By The Lake Anglican Church is gearing up to celebrate its SOth
anniversary this weekend.The church is inviting all present and former parish-
ioners to attend an anniversary service on the Sunday at 10:30 a.m. followed by

make an investment in
our future."

Community Living -
South Huron Association
is getting ready to
launch an ambitious
new retail store project.
This Friday from 12-
2:30 pin. they will be
holding a grand opening
ceremony at their new
stores, The
Bird's Nest
Craft & Tea
Room and The
Country
Cupboard,
located in their
Adult Resource
Centre on 145
Main St.
The attached
stores regular
hours will be
Mon.. -Fri. 10
a.m. 5:30
p.m. and Sat. -
Sun. 11
at.-Sun...11 a.m. -
3:30 p.m.
The Country Cupboard
will be selling hand-
made crafts, consign-
ment items from local
artisans, freshly baked
,trea'd, specialty cakes
and frozen foodb from
the centre's food service
program.
The Bird's Nest Craft &
Tea Room seats 10 and
will sell teas, specialty
blend coffees, desserts;
soups and sandwiches
along with crafts includ-
ing wreaths and bird
houses.
Julie Jurevieius, a
team leader at the Adult
Resource Centre which
works with developmen-
tally challenged people,
is excited about their
newest project.
"If we didn't try it we
wouldn't know," she
said. "It will be a great
experience that will help
to keep us on our toes."
She said the project
has been in the works
since January and , the
entire staff at the centre
has been involved in get-
ting the store up and
running.
"It will be a
training and
learning
experience for our
clients.A lot of
them have wanted
to get retail
experience."

DEVELOPMENT CHARGES BY-LAW
PUBLIC MEETING
The Township •of Lucan-Biddulph is. holding a Public
Meeting to discuss a proposed Development
Charges By -Law. This By -Law would replace the
existing By -Law No. 10-92 and will set out new
Development Charge Rates and the manner in
which they will be collected. The meeting will be
held on:

Copies of the proposed By -Law and the supporting
Background Study will be available for review at the
Township Offices beginning on June 24, 1999.

Associates Consulting engineers will be present at
the meeting to present details of the Background
Study and answer questions. Any person who
attends the 'meeting may make representations
relating to the By -Law.
