Upcoming activities
The women of Centralia
United Church are invited
to participate in . a Ladies'
Choir for Fathers Day
worship. Practice will be
held Thursday night at 7
p.m. at the church. _ :F
The Sacrament'k-: of
Communion will be cele-
brated during worship on
June 20. Confirmation will
also be held at Zion West
United Church.
Camp Bimini will host
U.C.W. day on June 21
beginning at 9:30 a.m.
There will also be a
potluck lunch.

would appreciate dona-
tions of cookies. Please
bring them to the church
on June 27 and mark the
date they were baked.
The next Fun Night will
be held at Kick's Pool in
Exeter on June 30 from

ZURICH - The Zurich
Senior Diners met on June
9 with an attendance of
36. The 50/50 draw was
won by Ina Russell. An
election contest was won
by Sheldon Wein.
Glena Horner showed
slides she had taken on
her trip to Macedonia
some time ago.

Strawberry Social
to raise funds for
Alzheimer Society
HENSALL Queensway Nursing Home's volunteer
Auxiliary met Monday morning to discuss the June spe-
cial events as well as to make plans for the Strawberry
Social on June 16 at 7 p.m. The Social is a fundraiser
for the Huron County Alzheimer Society. Tickets are $5
and can be purchased at the 'nor. Gary Boyle of
London is entertaining and every( ; welcome.
Monday afternoon the Ex ' istian Reformed
Women visited and played gai, with residents in air
conditioned comfort as it was too- hot and humid to be
outdoors.
Rev. Vernon Dean of Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle
led a worship service on Tuesday afternoon With a
message entitled "Why Worry?"
Wednesday afternoon Harry McAdams, Mildred
Gingerich, Mabel Jeffery, Ed Galloway and Ceacillia
Edgar, along with volunteer Kay Mock and staff Carol
Gascho enjoyed a country drive to see where the plow-
ing match will be held and 'also to St. Joseph's to see
the lake. It was •a lovely drive with various stops along
the way:
Seventeen Senior Diners stayed Thursday evening to
hear the Grand Bend Kitchen Band entertain with their
antics and music.
Queensway Baking Group entered their bran muffins,
peanut butter cookies and banana loaf in the Hensall
Fair competition.
In the afternoon, residents had a quiet Library Hour,
going over the newest magazines and books.
