Chuck Mallette was the organist. The greeters were Pat and Doug Cook with Janice and Garry Alderdice receiving the offering. Communion was served by Pat Pryde, Leeanne Erb, Barb Gackstetter and Christine Pryde. Prayers were asked for Calvary Wallace Zion Church in Listowel. A box lunch social will be held June 19. There will be a mass choir prac- tice on June 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Northside United Church in Seaforth for the International Plowing Match choir. Hensall United Church choir prac- tice will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. All are welcome. • On June' 3 the Ladies Afternoon Group of Hensall United Church met at the Three Boys Restaurant for their noon meal. There were 10 women present who enjoyed a social time. The Tinker Tots Nursery School is having an Open House on June 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. The Nursery School is located in room 1 at Hensall Public School. They offer an educational and fun - filled program for chil- dren aged 2 1/2 to five years with a low child -to - adult ratio. Childcare will be available in the class- room during the open house for siblings. Interested families are invited to drop in and reg- ister for the fall. For more information contact Valerie Pratt 262-2906. Back by popular demand, the Hensall Parks Board will be host- ing another Smart Serve Course on June 29 at the Hensall Community Centre. This is a program to educate about respon- sible alcohol service. It is a worthwhile evening for employees of licensed establishments, service club members, owners of licensed businesses, and Special Occasion Permit Holders. The cost of the course is $20 per person.. Additional information regarding Smart Serve is available from the Hensall Municipal Office and the Hensall Arena. It is important to note that no registrations will be accepted the night of the course. All registrations must be received in advance. Space is limited, so register early. Plans for the Hensall Summer Playground Program continue to develop. The program will run from July 19 to August 20. Swimming lessons at Vanastra Recreation Centre are also offered in conjunc- tion with the Hensall Playground. Full details regarding fees and pro- gramming are available form the Hensall Municipal Office, 262- 2812 and the Arena, 262-3207. Watch for the Playground display at the Hensall Fair and meet the staff members. Chris Brandon of Exeter and Ryan Gibson of Centralia were hunting through the selection of non-fiction classics at the Exeter library book sale Monday afternoon. The sale of used books and magazines continues all this week during regular library hours.
