GRAND BEND In their fight against crime, North
kt.ambton OPP has a new weapon in their arsenal —
two SFA•DO0s.
'rho personal watercrafts have been !tint to the
detachment by Team Vincent, a SEA,D00 dealership
in Seaforth.
The loan is part of a larger corporate sponsorship
program Bombardier Inc., the makers of SEA*D00s,
has been running for six years.
"These SEA•DOOs are going to get us places we
never could get to before," said Staff Sgt. Charlie
Bouwma.n. Seven officers from the detachment are
going to be trained on the watercrafts.
Bob Gossling, a representative from Bombardier,
said the watercrafts are a significant addition to any
police force,
"They can significantly cut their response time
because they are so versatile and easy to maneuver,"
Ake said. "I'lley will also help increase productivity."

were in the village last Wednesday promoting their

"There are a lot of safety issues involved and we

said Gossling. "There is lots of confusion over the new
rules and regulations and we want to let the public
know what they are."

help field questions about water safety and the new
laws regarding boating that came into effect April 1.

EXETER -- On June 2,
Exeter's Scotiabank
branch said thanks to
their new and old cus-
tomers.
The bank held an open
house to thank their cus-
tomers for their patience
and understanding during
a recent $250,000 reno-
vation to their Main St.
location.
They also wanted to
welcome all the National
Trust customers who
joined them on May 10.
Scotiabank's _merger
with National Trust was
completed in May.
Branch manager Lloyd
Robison estimates more
than 400 customers and
friends of thebank
attended the event.
Food and.door prizes
were provided during the
open house.

Bodacious.Jazz Band has.
been selected by. the
Exeter . Business
Association to give the
first live performance in
the new Exeter Parkette
on Main Street.
The concert is slated for
Friday, June 11 beginning
at 7 p.m.
Several years ago the
group members were part
of the Main Street Jug.
Band. It was one of the
most popular in the area,
achieving local fame as
the featured band at the
annual Peanut Stomp
sponsored by the Lions
Club. Band members
include: George Godbolt
on piano, Elwood
Truenmer, trumpet; Bob
Fletcher, banjo and Ed
Mittleholtz on sax. The
concert is expected to last
about 90 minutes followed
by an autograph session.
