HIGH SCHOOL,
JESSE BERGMANN
Jesse Bergmann believes In working hard to
obtain his goals but never loses sight of the impor-
tance of humor in all our lives. He is currently the
Social Convener of South Huron and also was a
member of the senior boys soccer team. He enjoys
playing minor hockey in the winter as well as golf in
the summer. His main hobby is computers which he
hopes will assist him in his future career. His par-
ents -Ken and Sandi as, well as his sister Catherine
all encourage, him to do his best and t school as
his' jiii _ 10ie ` priority. Jesse was' a peer mentor
during grade 6velve and has tried out for vii tually
all high school teams throughout his five years. He
has partaken in this year's OAC comedy show and
also went to a Global Vision Conference in Toronto.
Next year Jesse will be attending Wilfrid Laurier
University and will hopefully be going into business
sales. He is currently working as Assistant Manager
at his family-owned Bergie's Restaurant which he
will use to fund his university career. Jesse is a very
open-minded individual and does, his best to get
along with all of his peers at school. He is looking
forward to the future challenges that lay ahead of
him.
BRIAN HAYMAN
Brian Hayman is honored to have been nominated
for student of the year. He has enjoyed his five years
at South Huron DHS where he has taken part in
many activities over the years. During his time at
South -Huron he has been part of student council
where he learned many valuable skills in his two
year-as,dxeasurer that will help him in his educa-
tion. Brian was also sent. to Ontario Educational
Leadership Center to represent the student council
and to better himself as a leader within the. school.
He was also selected from the scho6l to attend a
conference for Jr. Team Canada in international
trade. Brian has also been a great encourager of
school sports even though he has not participated in
most of them. Out of school, Brian has been involved
in Exeter Minor Hockey for over ten years where he
has enjoyed being a part of team sports. He is also
an avid golfer and is a member at Ironwood Golf
Club. For the past year and a half he has been a -
cook at Murphy's Pub and Eatery in Exeter as well
as a service provider for Community Support for
Families. Brian is the son of John and Jo -Ann
Hayman and plans to attend Brock University in the
fall for Business Administration.
DAVE ROBILLIARD
During Dave's five years at South Huron he has been actively involved in all
aspects of school life ranging from athletics and music to academic achievements.
Athletically, Dave participated in cross country, volleyball, basketball, bad-
minton and soccer. In this period he won awards on each team and was selected
to go to the Ontario Educational Leadership Centre, ,better known as OELC in the
summer of 1997.
Musically, Dave has played drums in the concert and jazz bands during all five
years and the jazz combo for his senior year at South Huron. During this time, he
won Honour Awards at the Musicfest
Canada festivals and just recently on
the Zildjian Outstanding Percussionist
Award at Musicfest 1999. Dave also
attended OELC for music in the sum-
mer of 1996.
Academically at South Huron, Dave
participated in Reach for the Top in
grades nine through 11 and also com-
peted in the Cayley and Fermat math
contests in grades ten and eleven
respectively. In grade 11, Dave was
the highest scoring contestant in the
school on the Fermat contest. In grade
12, Dave obtained the highest mark in
grade 12 music and that year was
awarded an Excellence in Education
Award. During his last year he was a
Prefect at South Huron.
Next year, Dave hopes to study
music at Western, which will be hap-
pily paid for by his loving parents Bob
and Sandy.
JASON NEIL
Jason has had the opportunity to be involved in
all aspects of student life at South Huron. Jason
has been involved with Panther athletics every
year of his high school career. He was involved
with basketball in grade nine, volleyball in his
final year and rugby for four years as a player,
captain and assistant coach.
Throughout his time at South Huron, Jason has
also been involved in extra curricular academic
activities as well. He has participated in the
Canadian Mathematics Competitions for four
years, wrote the grade 11 Avegadro Chemistry
Exam and the OAC International Physics Exam.
Jason has been an honour roll student for three
years. Ifs grade nine, Jason enjoyed a short stint in
the band.
In his OAC year, Jason has exercised his leader-
ship abilities by acting as a treasurer on student
council and has been busy with all student council
activities.
Jason is the proud son of Jim and Anne Neil of
Crediton and is looking forwardto attending the
University of Guelph in the Agricultural Business
co-op program.
DARRYL ROMPHF
Darryl Romphf has been involved in many aspects of school life at South
Huron in all of his five years, though his real love lies in music. He has
been a dedicated member of both the Concert Band and Jazz Band, and
Jazz Combo. He has been a frequent soloist in the Jazz Band, and has
been awarded for his efforts at both the regional and national levels. He
is currently working as the lead singer/guitarist in the blues/rock band
`Roy's Garage' and hopes to pursue a career in music.
Darryl has afso contributed to
South Huron as the Student
Council Social Convener for his
grade 11 and 12 years., He has
played on the volleyball and bas-
ketball teams, where his achieve-
ments include several player
awards and three All-Star selec-
tions. Darryl was also selected as
a school representative at the
Ontario Educational Leadership
Camp for athletics. He has per-
formed in two drama productions
at the school. (Listen to the Wind,
Blood Relations), and was a mem-
ber of the Peer Mentor group and
Athletic Council, all while main-
taining a strong grade average.
This fall, Darryl will be studying
Recorded Music
Production at Fanshawe 4,01on P�
