JULIE DARLING
Julie has had a very busy and piodncdve live years at SHDHS.
Because of her involvement in many areas of school life, she
has great memories to take with her as she prepares to gradu-
ate.
This year, Julie has enjoyed being part of the Student Council
as Co -deputy Premier.
Music has played a central role in her high school life. During
all five years she has been a member of the Jazz Bands, Wind
Ensemble and Concert Bands well ' accompanying the
choirs and triple trio. In 1996, Julie as chosen to attend the
Ontario Educational Leadership Camp for music.
When not in the music room, Julie found time for involvement
with peer mentoring, peer tutoring, 0.S.A.I.D., and the
S.PA.C.E. Committee for planning Huron County enrichments.
Last year, Julie tvAls a member of the Senior Girls Soccer Team.
Presently, Julie is busy helping with the preparations for this
year's formal.
Julie takes great pride in her academic achievements, main-
taining high honours standing throughout her 5 years and
receiving highest average in grades 10 and 12. She was very
honoured to receive an Excellence in Education Award in her
grade 12 year.
Julie is attending Wilfrid Laurier University in September for
a degree in Political Science and Business Administration, and
will be continuing her piano studies at an Associate level.
Julie is the daughter of Joe and Diane and sister of Jena and
Jordan.
SARAH McALLISTER
Sarah McAllister has been an active, enthusiastic
and hardworking member of the student body at
South Huron District High School. For five years,
Sarah has had the opportunity to be a part of all
aspects of school life. From grades 9 through 12,
Sarah has been involved in Junior and Senior Soccer,
receiving the Junior girls soccer M.V.P. award,
Midget to Senior Girls Basketball, Prefecting, Peer
Mentoring and a student representative for thestu-
dent council. Among all of these activities, Sarah has
achieved honour roll standings.
During her final year at South Huron, Sarah ful-
filled her goal at becoming a member of the Student
Council, as Student Trustee. Being one of ten repre-
sentatives for the Avon Maitland District School
Board, Sarah has represented her school proudly.
Again, Sarah has achieved' honour roll marks with
her busy lifestyle in student council activities, and
with this year's formal preparation.
Overall, Sarah has been a key player in all activities
that occur, making many memories within the school
walls.
Sarah will be attending The University of Waterloo
for Social Development Studies in the fall, and is the
proud daughter of Susan and Neil McAllister.
MARCY SWANCE
Marcy has had an active role in all aspects of high school life during her
five years at South Huron.
During her five years at South Huron, she has been a dedicated member
of the music department. She has played several instruments in both the
Concert and Jazz bands. Apart from being the lead trumpet player, she
has also played the timpani, flugelhorn, harmonica, and mallets. Marcy
accompanied various choirs as well during her high school career.
Marcy has been a part of the Student Council from 1996 to 1999. Her
positions included Jr. Treasurer, OSSSA/SAC representative and her most
challenging position as Co -Deputy
Premier for 1998-1999.
She has had the honour of receiv-
ing an Excellence in Education
Award in 1998 and she received a
Student of the Month award in
1997.
Leadership conferences are what
Marcy feels helped her to achieve
her leadership qualities. She was
chosen to attend OELC for music in
1997. Marcy has also attended
Humansphere, HOBY and OSSSA
conferences.
Marcy has been the leader of the
Student Impact Group since 1997.
Marcy feels that the group's great-
est accomplishment is their organi-
zation of presents and student vol-
unteers for the Christmas Bureau
each year.
Marcy is the daughter of Roger
and Catherine Swance.
MANS ROLPH
Mandy Rolph, daughter of Jim and Sue Rolph
of Exeter, has participated in and enjoyed all
aspects of student life at South Huron, Mandy
has been involved in the award winning music
program for all five years of her high school life,
playing lead clarinet two of those years. She is a
dedicated, organized and well-rounded student.
Mandy has been involved in many other activi-
ties, including Peer Mentoring, Pre-fects, Arts
Council, Drama produce'ons .and. fQr three s .

WOSSA each year and this year proudly ran at
OFSAA. One of her most challenging and biggest
accomplishments this year was having the posi-
tion of Secretary on the Student Council.
On top of her busy schedule, Mandy has man-
aged to exceed with her .academics for all five
years, making the honour roll and will also
graduate with a high honours standing.
Her future plans are to attend Brock
University, majoring in Child Studies, and
Sociology with goals of becoming a teacher. For
Mandy, South Huron has been an enjoyable and
worthwhile experience.

SARAH VERMONT
Sarah Vermunt, daughter of Walter and Brenda Vermunt of Zurich, is a
proud and active member of the SHDHS school community. Throughout her
years at South Huron, Sarah has contributed to many- of the extra -curricular
activities offered there. She has been a member of the girls basketball teams
and has volunteered her time toact as coach for the SHDHS grad school bas-
ketball clinics. Sarah has also been a member of groups such as the sexual
assault support group, the healthy lifestyles team, arts council, OSAID, the
violence -free schools committee, and a peer mentor for younger students in
the school. Sarah was last year's
writer of the Panther Profile for the
Times -Advocate and reported the
events of student life at South
Huron. Acting is one of Sarah's pas-
sions and she was the lead female
role in the 1997 production of
"Listen to the Wind" and in the 1998
production of "Blood Relations". She
was co-editor of last year's yearbook
and is this year's editor as well.
Sarah is most proud of the work that
she has done on student council. She
kept the group organized last year
as secretary and led the council this
year as premier. Sarah was this
year's recipient of an award of
excellence ht education. As well as
being a part of many student activi-
ties at SHDHS, Sarah has main-
tained an honor role average. South
Huron has been a positive part of
Sarah's life, and the memoriesof
her five years within the SHDHS
walls will be among her favourites.
