to win the Cup while Ottawa hosted the tournament
and to do so in front of his family.
MacLean said the 67s had to stay focused during the
five week layoff between the end of their OHL playoff
run and the Memorial Cup. The players counted the
days down while working hard in practices and keep-
ing in shape.
MacLean said Ottawa's goaltending duo and defence
were key to the Cup win. He added the offence stepped
up as well since they were eeking out wins at the end
of the season with only two or throe goals.
He now has a different outlook on his hockey future
after winning the Memorial Cup. Before the win,
MacLean was thinking he would like to return to the
67s for his overage year. s .; x _:t,.} r•i:xL;:ss._. ,.
"I won't be back," MacLean said. "I think it's time to t,
move on. I've won junior hockey's number one prize.74
MacLean hopes to either sign a with a professional
team in the East Coast League or head back to univer-
sity with the University' Western Ontario Mustangs to
pursue his business degree.
