Lutein and zeaxanthin are antioxidants found in certain
foods and can help slow the progression of Age -Related
Macular Degeneration (AMD). Lutein is found in com,
kiwi, zucchini, spinach, red grapes, green pepper and cel-
ery. Zeaxanthin is in orange bell pepper, mango, corn and
oranges.
To help people suffering from urge incontinence, where
there is an inability to control the sudden urge to urinate,
a bladder pacemaker may be the answer. It sends electri-
cal impulses to the nerves that control bladder muscles
to contract or relax for urination. It's in clinical trials right
now in Canada.
If you have seasonal allergies, it's a good idea to take
your antihistamine medication on a regular basis even if
you have no symptoms on a particular day.
