Lebeau told not to drive impaired
GODERICH -- Sarah Lebeau's parents testified last
week they had told her not to drink and drive.
Susan Lebeau said her daughter left for a party in
Varna about 10:30 p.m. the night before a fatal
crash in Nov. 24, 1996 that.killed four people.
Her mother said she trusted Sarah to be re-
sponsible and to know when she had enough to
drink.
Sarah's father, Jim Lebeau, testified his daughter
was a good driver and he couldn't remember his
daughter ever driving when she had too much to
drink.
Earlier in the week, Lebeau's sister and an ac-
quaintance testified they didn't think Sarah was im-
paired when she left the party.
Beckey Lebeau said shewas leaving the party\ at
midnight when Sarah arrived. She said it didn't ap-
pear Sarah had been drinking.
Amanda Lee testified she met Sarah Lebeau, a high
school friend, on the way to the party at the home of
a mutual friend where they each had a half glass of
- iasay.
Lee said when she was leaving the party at 4:30
.a.m. Lebeau still appeared sober and she wouldn't
