United Church Women of
Grand Bend met May 13
in the church S.S. rooms
with 20 in attendance.

reading an Ann Landers
letter about a mother
who took a day off and
her husband came home
to find everything in
chaos. -. Y a....,.
Marlene Brenner con-
ducted worship and the
program with a number
of springtime readings
and hymns, a bird ques-
tion game and facts 'from
"How does aspirin find a
headache?"

Thompson gave a report
on their adventures,
meals and program at
London Conference at
Sault Ste. Marie from
April 25 to 27. They and
Jean Clapperton attend-
ed.
The roll call was
answered by telling a
first sign of spring.
Thompson conducted.
the business.
The group decided to
hang the quilt made by
the U.C.W. in the winter.
for .the Plowing Match
should hang in the Town
Municipal Office until
after the 2001 Games.

Memorial Hall following
Mass by Fr. Paul.

Spring Draw, Annette

were thanked fet orga-

ful event.

reports of the. CWL
Diocesan .- Convention.
which they attended in
Windsor.
It was announced that
First Communion
Sunday would be May
16. Volunteers were
asked to help serve cof-
fee and juice after Mass
that day. s.
The CWL enjoyed the
perennial plant
exchange with many
members taking home
new flowers for their �.

Spiritual. Advisor, Fr.
Paul, gave .the CWL an
up -date of the develop-
ments for. the building of.
the new Precious Blood-

Members were remind
ed that at the next meet-

ty of their -Secret Pals
would. be revealed.

Sunday was celebrated
at Grand Bend United
Church on May 9.
Morgan Bland and Sarah
Tremain played prelude
piano melodies.
Rev. Putman's sermon
was entitled "Never Left
Alone". The scriptures
were read by Alyssa
Nicholls and Matthew
Tremain.
For the children's
story, Rev. Putman read
them a story about the
meanest mother in the
world.
The choir sang two
anthems accompanied by
Elva McIntyre at the
piano, Lynn Tremain on
flute and Rev. Putman on
the guitar
The quilt wall hanging
made by the U.C.W.
members was on display.
Golden Agers
The bi-weekly euchre
of Grand Bend Golden
Agers was held
Wednesday night, May
12 at the Legion Hall
with seven tables in play.
