The top end of steers and heifers sold at steady prices with the sec- ond cut selling at prices $2 lower. Cows traded steady to last week. Veal calves sold on an active steady trade, with the lambs selling $10 lower. All weights of stockers sold at steady prices. There were 510 steers on offer selling from 92.00 to 97.00 to the high of 111.50. Two black limo steers con- signed by Walter Riddel, Granton averaging 1342 lbs. sold to Dominion Meat Packers for 107.00 with his overall offering of nine steers averaging 1410 lbs. selling for an average of 97.96. One gold steer consigned by John Smuck, Wingham weighing 1195 lbs. sold to Gross Abattoir Co. Ltd. for 104.00 with his overall offer- ing of four steers averaging 1188 lbs. selling for an aver- age of 96.56. One char steer consigned by Ken McAlpine, Ailsa Craig weighing 1350 lbs. sold to Dominion Meat Packer for 101.75. Ten steers consigned by David Bowles, Brussels aver- aging 1254 lbs. sold for an average of 96.61 with sales to 102.00. Seven steers consigned by John A. Elliott, Ripley aver- aging 1402 lbs. sold for an average of 95.18 with sales to 103.00. Forty-two steers consigned by Earl, Dave & Dale Foster, St. Marys averaging 1361 lbs. sold for an average of 95.00 with sales' to 100.00. Twelve steers consigned by Schmidt Brook Farms Inc., Woodstock averaging 1516 lbs. sold for an average of 94.47 with sales to 102.50. Six steers consigned by John Glousher, Wingham averaging 1427 lbs. sold for an average of 94.02 with sales to 100.50. Thirty-four steers con- signed by Cunningham Farms, Lucan averaging 1408 lbs. sold for an average of 93.19 with sales to 100.00. Forty steers consigned by Dale & John Taylor, Creemore averaging 1460 lbs. sold for an average of 92.00 with sales to 94.50. There were 252 heifers on offer, selling from 92.00 to 97.00 to the high of 109.00. One red heifer consigned by Darren Johnston, Bluevale weighing 1170 lbs. sold to Dominion Meat Packers for 109.00 with his overall offering of six heifers averaging 1212 lbs. selling for an average of 98.59.
