Huron Information Directory
is ready for area consumers
CLINTON - The Huron
Community Service
Network is proud to
announce the birth of
it's brand new informa-
tion directory.
This newest edition
follows the very success-
ful directories of 1993
and 1997.
This year's model
however has a whole
new look with a perma-
nent binder format. This
binder format will prove
to be much more cost
effective as updated
information can be
inserted into. the exist-
ing binder.
This :year, the Network
also grants permission
for the user to photo-
copy information on a
particular subject or
provider for a con-
sumer.
We believe the infor-
mation we have com-
piled is only useful if
people know how to
access the services
offered.
We hope that this ser-
vice will be of great ben-
efit for the consumer.
The Information
Directory is a direct
result of the hardwork
and countless volunteer
hours' by .four partners:
the Community Care
Access Centre of Huron,
the Huron County
Library, the Huron
County Planning and
Development
Department and the
Huron Community
Service Network.
The Directory lists
over 3,300 businesses,
government agencies
and community service
organizations serving
the residents of Huron
County and beyond.
It is available for sale

DASHWOOD - The
Education and Cultural
Activities meeting of
Dashwood- Women's
Institute was held at the
Hall convened by
Dorothy Restemayer and
•ella Tieman. Guests
a1td members enjoyed a
potluck meal. Plants
were won by Isabel
Becker, Velma Russell
and Dorothy
Restemayer.
The meeting opened
with a reading "We are
wonderfully made" and a
poem "It's Spring".
The roll call "What
emergency equipment do
you carry in your car or
purse?" was answered
by 18 present.
A donation was made
to Exeter Agricultural
Society.
The District Annual
will be held in Crediton
on May 20 at 6 p.m.
The District Picnic will
also be held in Crediton
on July 6 at 12 noon.
The motto for the pro-
gram "Doing your best is
more important than
being the best. Losers,
who never give up are
always winners" was
read by Dorothy.
Guest speaker was
Velma Russell, telling
about her trip to
Portugal and showing
pictures and several
things she brought back.
She took many side trips
and saw lots of country
and villages.
She saw the almond
trees in full bloom,
orange groves, olive
groves and grape vine-
yards.
She went to a gypsy
market and on a safari
trip. She took side trips
to Spain, Tangiers and
Gibraltar.
The weather was good,
with temperatures
between 68 and 72
degrees.
Birthdays for the
month were Edith Baker
and Maud Hoffman.

It's Different This Times

WE'RE USING A NEW WAY TO PREPARE
THE VOTERS LIST FOR THIS ELECTION.
It's called the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario and it means that
most Ontario residents won't have enumerators knocking at their car this time.

In some areas where there 'las
recently been a significant change
in population, it may be necessary to
complete a limited door-to-door
canvass to identify eligible voters.
In these cases, revising agents from
Elections Ontario, working in teams
of two, will be calling on residences
to confirm voter eligibility. If the
revising agents come to your door,
please make them welcome.

NEW ELECTORAL DISTRICTS
The boundaries for electoral districts in
Ontario provincial elections have
changed. The number of electoral
districts has been reduced from 130 to
103 and boundaries are now the same
as those for federal elections.
You may confirm your electoral
district by tailing Elections Ontario or by
visiting our website.

within TWO WEEKS, contact your
local returning office for
information on how to protect your
right to vote on election` days'
Returning office locations and
telephone numbers may be obtained

visiting our

QUALIFICATIONS TO VOTE
To be eligible to vote, on polling day
a person must be:
• 18 years of age,
• a Canadian citizen, and
• a resident of the electoral district.
Persons who ceased to live in Ontario
within the two years before polling day
may be entitled to vote under certain
conditions. Call us for further information.
