EXETER -- For the past 10 years, Exeter and
area senior citizens have gathered each Tuesday
at the Lions Youth Centre for dinner and fellow-
ship.
More than 70 people enjoyed a roast beef dinner
on April 27 to celebrate the milestone.
The Town and Country Support Services Dining
for Seniors Program started in 1989 to meet the
need for people in the community to come togeth-
er for a delicious, nutritious meal. The dinners,
which take place each Tuesday at noon at the Ex-
eter Lions Youth Centre, draw an average of 40
people.
Volunteers are an important part of the program
and Elaine Skinner of Exeter was recognized last
Tuesday for scheduling the volunteers for the past
10 years. Several people attended the celebration
who had volunteered and/or attended the dining
program since it began.
A stole embroidered and donated by home sup-
port worker Carol Anne Lostell and a podium built
and donated by Sam Skinner were presented.
The Clinton Wheelers 'n' Dealers square dancers
provided entertainment.
Anyone interested in attending the Exeter Dining
for Seniors dinners can .call 235-0258.
Craftsman Sam Skinner donated a much-needed podium to the Dining
