The Exeter Carpet Bowling Club team of John DeWeerd, front left, and Wilmar Wein won the local Senior Games tournament at the Exeter Youth Centre on Monday. Mary DeBoer and Joan Cole finished second. DeWeerd and Weir move on to the Tri -County competition at St. Marys on June 15. Down a goal, the juniors fought back with a goal from Jared Easton who had powered his way to the net before tucking the ball in the short side. Defenders Alex Kemp, Ian Weston and Brad Cox played well as did goal- keeper Jason Monteith who recorded a shutout in the second half. The juniors Huron league final regular sea- son record is 3-0-1, good for first place. The Huron playoff tournament is May 17 at Clinton. The juniors hosted the South Huron Junior Boys Classic Invitational Tournament on Saturday. Aylmer East Elgin, Woodstock College Ave. and London Oakridge made the trip to Exeter; The highlight of the afternoon: was an exhibi- tion penalty shot shootonit before the final games, The juniors tied their firs$ • game versus Woodstock 3-3, lost to East Elgin (the eventual champsions) Z-1 and played Oakridge to a 0-0 tie. South Huron wound up in second place. The senior boys w host their annual tourna-- merit this Friday arrd Saturday: The senior boys of i league game is at Clinton St. Anne's on May 10. The last league game of. the season for the seniors is at home versus Goderich on May 12. The juniors don't play again till the Huron final tournament at Clinton on May17. Exeter tennis Club Inc.
