KINGSTON -- A 27 -
year -old Kitchener man
has pleaded guilty to
armed robbery of Exet-
er's Subway last year.
Appearing in a King-
ston Provincial Court on
April ' `'26, 1999, Philip
Chenier also pleaded
guilty to having a con-
cealed weapon during
the robbery. He was
sentenced to six years
and 11 months in a fed-
eral penitentiary.
During .the .robbery on
April 5,: 1998; Chenier
wielded !machete and
demanded • money from
the Subway clerk. The
assailant fled with just
over $100 in cash but
was caught on videotape
by store cameras.
Within days of the rob-
bery Chenier was iden-
tified but he remained at
large until his arrest on
August 19 _ by Kingston ngerous . offences com-
