Personalized bowling balls are have arrived By Ron and jean Dann ZURICH - There was a great deal of skepticism among some five pin bowlers from all the provinces a few years ago when the Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers' Association announced its approval of personal- ized bowling balls from pro shops. After all, all bowling proprietors had been supplying sufficient 5 pin balls to accommodate their league and open bowling customers so why would any bowler buy his/her own? One of the strongest reasons is because many bowlers discovered how much higher games they were scoring when mak- ing use of their own bowling balls of equal size and weight. The Ontario Five Pin Bowlers' Association threw its support behind this progressive move in 5 pin bowling. Soon locally the Bluewater and Zurich Association adult bowlers along with some of the Youth Bowling Council bowlers and even many Golden Agers were buying their own personalized bowling balls. Bluewater annual meeting Sunday The annual meeting and election of officers of the Bluewater 5 Pin Bowlers' Association is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at Lucknow lanes. Zurich Association executives will be attending.
